50 Worst Songs...I feel Guilty — Page 2

Sounds of Silence, may not be my favorite S&G song but a place on the 50 worse? What about "One Tin Solider" or a very personal guilty pleasure "Beach Baby" by the Scottish group The First Class. And speaking of Scottish groups... why isn't "Saturday Night" (many of you remember the Bay City Rollers) on that list?

Something like this is always going to be a matter of personal taste so you really can't say that any one song is absolutely terrible or absolutely wonderful.
Of course having said that, anyone who'd say "Sounds of Silence" is bad obviously has a tin ear and it's also common knowledge that the worst song EVER written or recorded was "MacArthur Park" and it didn't even make the list!

Mamie, this is almost fun enough that maybe, at a future get together we should have a list of songs that should be on that list!

An adult list would be significantly different than this one!

Seriously, no mention of 99 Red Balloons or Walking on Sunshine? Or at the very least, Mairzy Doats.

Oh please! Mairzy Doats is a classic. The next thing I know you'll be picking on Three Little Fishies.

I think I'm the only one mentioning "the End" by the Doors. I love that song. I love the Doors!
The rest of that list are songs I can easily do without.

Mairzy Doats? I think the average Blender reader's grandfather wasn't around for that one.
Although, I might add "Buckle Down Winsocki."

I can fully admit my love for Breakfast at Tiffanys (it, along with Jagged Little Pill WAS my senior year at 'Cuse) whilst fully admitting that it's an AWFUL song!

"Breakfast at Tiffany's" is a very catchy song.
But it always made me mad because what a STUPID thing to base a relationship on.
"We should stay together because we both liked this one movie."
Even as a kid, it pissed me off.
But, still, it's catchy and its on my iPod.

I stopped when I saw The Beatles on the list. The writer knows nothing of the background of the song and even misquotes the lyrics. So there goes any credibility the list may have. Rule number one, know every aspect of what you criticize or you come off looking like a dumbass.

Wait just a second, 99 Red Balloons is a great song. It's both catchy and political. What could be better?
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

FF, I completely agree. 99 Red Balloons is one of my favorite '80s songs!
come to think of it, I'm really surprised that "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood isn't on there. I mean, I love that song, but it's universally known to be pretty awful, right?

Relax was pretty popular in the discos. I remember dancing to it and loving it back then~

I agree with most of the choices on the list with the exception of:
"We Didn't Start the Fire" Billy Joel, worst song? Come on...
"We Built THis City" Starship showing they could rock the 80's
"From a Distance" Beautful, meaningful-
"I'd Do Anything for love..." just COOL
