Now you're catching on, LePetite, but not entirely there.
I never said I was punishing anyone. My spouse and I took the risk. We took the hit.
If you're not invested in my company, for all its rewards AND risks, then you (and the government) have no business in deciding what the work you do for me is worth. You don't like my terms, go somewhere else. I don't like your terms, I'll hire someone else. (Clearly, we're not even touching unions yet).
When the government (or any entity) tells the employer what your work is worth to me, it becomes an entitlement.
Go ahead and raise the minimum wage 40%. Indeed, I'll cut jobs and increase prices and do everything I can to spare my business and my income, including reincorporating ramen noodles into the diet.
The size of my company truly is irrelevant. It's what will happen. The government may not live by a budget, but the rest of the real world does.
You are not guaranteed the right to life, liberty and a ramen-noodle-free diet. You're guaranteed the right to the pursuit of your dreams. Whether you achieve them is entirely up to you.

There's no such thing as tax-and-spend liberals anymore.
They've been replaced by tax-cut-and-spend Republicans.
Javero's economics, like his politics, are based on an outmoded model.
And Kelzma--their tax cuts never benefit you. They only benefit Exxon and Halliburton, not small businesses.

"Note goth's answer that the economy is good because Wall Street is thriving."
What measure do you use to indicate the economy is good? How many new members joined Code Pink?

"The measure I use is how many people have to decide between heating oil and food. Strangely, these people usually don't invest on Wall Street."
Do you understand what Wall Street is?

"Do you have a real question for me?"
What does Wall Street have to do with whether people can afford food or heating oil?

It's the DemocratIC party, not the democrat party.
For those who are not aware of the distinction and the way Republicans use this as a slur...
Democrat Party

"Yes, it is the supreme hope of the democrat party that the economy fails and that the surrendercrats are able to withdraw our troops from Iraq-the first political party in US History to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
Exactly how do you define "victory"? The Republicans and this administration can't seem to define it, perhaps you can do better.

"A stable Iraq with US military bases there to protect all of our interests in the Middle East."
Define stable.
And what if this independent, free and sovereign nation doesn't WANT US Military Bases there? Do they have the right to say get out? If indeed they are sovereign?
What exactly are our "interests" in the Middle East? INTERESTS is such a general term. What is it exactly that we're supposed to be protecting?
Using vague generalities to define Victory, just doesn't cut it.

7 and a half cents doesn't mean a thing.
But give it to me every hour
Every day of every week,
That's enough for me to be
Living like a King!
