9 year-old dancer

I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere, I hadn't seen it.

This girl is 9 years-old and ridiculously incredible. Her fouettes have better form that many 19 year olds who have been dancing their whole lives.

She needs to fire her choreographer, however.

Yup, but it's been the better part of a year since, it's still pretty impressive though...

Yeah the choreography could use some help... but she has amazing turns and extensions. I've been dancing for over 12 years now and I can't dance like that. Those fouettes were interesting... not classic ones, but interesting.

Wow...he moves like she's on ice. I can only imagine her at 18 or 19.

I've been dancing for 10 years and I'll admit that I'm a little jealous of her. My turns don't look that good! The coreography could really use some help though, it's really bad!

Wow! Her turns are AMAZING! And extremely fast. I'm so jealous. I would be falling off the podium (sp?) trying to do that many fouettes. I'm not surprised by her extension, but yes, her choreography was horrible!

Judging by the fact that she's nine, and going with my knowledge of how crazy parents can get when their child is talented, dare I safely guess that her coreographer might be her mom? re: 9 year-old dancer

i'm pretty sure her coreographer is at her studio, she has also done some group numbers, which DONT showcase her turning. Her routine this year:

http://www.halloffamedance.com/halloffame/viewregional.aspx?id=103

its the second one

Kinda of repeat from last year minus the box and plus a stool.
I think shes an amazing turner they just should add a bit of real coreography. That said, I could never dance like that!!

also here's a group one from last year she's in:
And a group from last year:
http://www.halloffamedance.com/halloffame/viewarchivedregional.aspx?id=71

second from the bottom.

I think she'll get even better, and thats frightening to think, shes already 5 times the dance I am.

Am I mistaken, or does choreography have an H in it?

She is wonderful, but am I a prude for thinking that it's not appropriate for a nine year old to dance to songs like those?

That choreography is a bit odd, but she is an AMAZING dancer. I have never seen this before, so it's not old news for me.

Not being a dancer myself, I am veryyy impressed. If she's 10, I'd like to see where she gets in a few years.

I tend to think that the stuff she's dancing to is slightly inappropriate, but I've seen younger girls dance to worse. It's a combination of the song and choreography. Not only are there inappropriate moments, it is very repetative and has absolutely no flow. It goes from trick to trick. Although she has some really amazing technique, I wouldn't necessarily call her an amazing dancer because there is no connection and she doesn't make the routine flow together. It's much more "look what I can do" (which is mainly the choreographers fault, but some of the fault lies with the performer as well.) And both routines are VERY similar. That being said, she has amazing extensions and her directionally changing fouettes are some of the better ones I've seen. Although I've never seen this video, I have seen plenty of performances that are quite similar. You'd be surprised what these little competition dancers do at such a young age. It's sickening and I'm jealous!

I fully enjoy watching people who have been dancing since the WOMB.

Sigh.

I totally agree dancnqn5...she's just doing tricks, she's not dancing. I couldn't sit and watch her for a 2-3 hour show, afterwhile I would think"ok we know you can lift your leg up and pirhouette for days". though i do give her props for her technique.

Wow, her extensions and turns are amazing. But I do agree that she's not really dancing. I just realized that this Hall of Fame Dance Challenge is in the city I live in and that I dance in that auditorium every year. Yet I had no idea about this competition that is there every year... I am extremely oblivious.
