AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#951
Posted: 3/12/09 at 11:25amEh, I love Kelly the way she is. Not everyone has to be a size 2. She's beautiful, talented, and sweet.

I dont care what size Kelly is, as long as she keeps singing. I dont love her new album, but do love her voice.
Good for Kelly for talking about her weight. I dont think she's as much of a singing sex symbol as some of her contemporaries are, so it shouldnt effect her career if she doesnt lose weight.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#953
Posted: 3/12/09 at 11:34amI agree, newgirl. Remember when Kelly got all skinny and people called her a sell-out, and that she was trying to be something she isn't. Now she is at her normal weight and she's getting called fat. F*** THAT!! I'm so sick of it.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#955
Posted: 3/12/09 at 12:25pmAnd the thing is she's not even fat...she's average. She's probably no more than a size 8.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#956
Posted: 3/12/09 at 2:46pmKelly isn't pregnant. She was specifically talking about not wanting kids in an interview yesterday. She's a little chunky sometimes. I think it's kinda hot.

Posted: 3/12/09 at 3:22pmOpry Week next week. Any suggestions for Adam? I'd love to hear a ballad this week, Vince Gill's ' I still believe in you' is perfect for his range.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#958
Posted: 3/12/09 at 3:49pmI love Kelly and hope her new cd does well. It's a fun cd, not great but ok.

OK, back to the judge's save thing. I heard on the radio this morning that they will not be able to save someone in the last 5 weeks of competition.
Is that for real?
What week was Chris Daughtry eliminated?

Yeah Ryan said last night they can use it up until there are 5 contestants left. Boy that sentence doesn't sound right...
re: AMERICAN IDOL#961
Posted: 3/12/09 at 5:50pmHells, Chris came in 4th so it wouldn't have saved him anyway. But it doesn't seem to have hurt him any to have placed 4th.

OK, so in that case the little spiel that Ryan gave explaining the purpose of that save doesn't really apply. I know he mentioned Chris Daughtry, Tamayra Gaye and someone else.
So, WTH?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#963
Posted: 3/12/09 at 6:33pmI still don't understand this whole save business and how it works. Or how it will be particularly influential in the end.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#965
Posted: 3/12/09 at 8:10pmThere's a new post on the tube site of a demo of a song called Quiet Desperation from Pump up the Volume with Adam, beautiful lower register. Let's hear that on Tuesday! don't know if i can post the link so go find it!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#966
Posted: 3/12/09 at 8:26pmHells, they were just using him as an example of someone who left the show too early. Which he was.

Seconded. His lower register is soooo gorgeous. Completely reminds me of a cross between Jonathan Groff and Clay Aiken!
I totally understand why he's been trying to keep his performances in the vein of glam rock for the first couple of weeks, to establish what kind of recording artist he'll be and everything, but it's time for him to whip out that gorgeous softer, lower tenor voice. That way people will stop saying all he can do is screech! :)
re: AMERICAN IDOL#968
Posted: 3/14/09 at 11:39amwow, that was pretty. I can't wait for him to sing something like that on AI.

Posted: 3/17/09 at 8:32pmOK Kris, THAT is how you show America that you CAN sing! That was beautiful.

really? I thought it was quite boring... I LOVE that song (especially Adeles cover) but that didn't do anything for me.
So far, I have only cared for Allison's performance

I think Kris has a lovely voice and sounds really pleasant, but he's a little dull. I'm with Simon...getting rid of the wedding ring might do wonders.
I thought Allison was perfect, but I think I'm at the point that she could completely butcher a song and I'd still love it.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#974
Posted: 3/17/09 at 8:37pmI thought it was tender and vulnerable. He's got a very expressive voice, IMO.
