AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#927
Posted: 3/11/09 at 10:00pmthat does make more sense. But what would suck is.. say Scott has a bad week and he goes into the bottom and they save him and the following week adam or danny have a bad week.. they have to leave. It's a stupid rule and they should just let america do the voting.

See, in theory I'd totally agree it's unfair. But I feel like like pretty much never happens, you know? Generally the voting tends to be a pretty darn accurate reflection of how people feel about the contestants. It's almost always been a one-time thing per season that a widely acknowledged favorite gets sent home early. I mean, last year there was Carly after Michael, but as much as I loved Carly, she didn't have the most consistent Idol run and I think most people had kind of expected her to place 4th or 3rd at best anyway.
So yeah, I think this "judges save" thing should REALLY only be reserved for the people who it's widely acknowledged- beyond just amongst the judges and producers- could actually win or at least go very very far in the competition. The ones who are so OBVIOUSLY loved with the fans, and something just went wrong. So basically at this point, Danny, Adam, and I guess maybe Lil or Scott.
But again, chances are only one if any of them WILL end up on the bottom one week. Because they ARE clearly the fan favorites, they're probably good to go. This is just a safety measure.

I kind of like the save rule - I think they probably have already decided who they concensually agree on saving if the need arises.
I think there always is that bone-head week when someone great does not get the votes they need to keep them in it - this is a chance for America to step up to the plate.

Posted: 3/11/09 at 11:07pmthanks. and the judges all decided not to save him?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#935
Posted: 3/11/09 at 11:11pmThe "save" is stupid. It's just going to make people resent the person it's used on.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#936
Posted: 3/11/09 at 11:24pmthe judges can only use the save one time in the entire competition?

Posted: 3/11/09 at 11:31pmquestion.... i really don't want to watch the show anymore but i want to see Kelly Clarkson sing... approximately what time does she perform? thanks
re: AMERICAN IDOL#939
Posted: 3/11/09 at 11:32pmAnd if the judges save someone that the viewers want out, they'll definitely be gone the following week when two contestants are given the boot and the judges aren't able to save anyone. It's a really stupid rule. They should stop trying to reinvent the wheel. It is what it is. Everything new they've tried this season has come off half-baked, awkward and ill-conceived.

The "save" thing is idiotic...and how humiliating for the ones it is NOT used on..."You're going home, unless the judges want to save you. Judges?"
"No"
UGH!
I wish they'd bring back American Idol Juniors...I love to see kids cry.

If Kelly is not pregnant, she needs to drop those pounds!
I think Eric Idle could win also!
