That's not what you said, though. You said "most of the Academy members (the majority) are in the Actors Branch." That's not remotely the same thing as being the largest branch.
You have a problem with a "majority?" I'm so sorry if my wording displeased you or gave you cause for alarm or confused you. Carry on with your own point, if you have one.

There is no arguing.
Not every situation that happens to not have a black person in it is racism.

No one anywhere ever suggested it was.
In fact, you're fighting continually with nobody over something that only exists in your racist brain.

Good, I'm glad we agree that anyone who screams "race" at the oscars is silly.

We can also agree you are an insufferable asshole.

Has anybody ever screamed "race" at The Oscars? I remember when one man raced naked across the stage at The Oscars. He was much more interesting than Hey19 has ever been.

Fox Searchlight just bid $17 million for Nate Parker's "The Birth of a Nation." One of next year's Oscar-ignored films has arrived!!

No need to get defensive. Yes, I have a problem with "majority" when that's incorrect information.

People, PEOPLE. Is this any way to start a New Year? Let's keep our focus on the real problem here: Dave19 and racism.

Dave19 is racism. I remain unconvinced he's not artificial intelligence created by every racist post on the internet fused together, like a cyber rat king.

A robot with a confederate flag tattoo that says "Heritage Not Hate"?
Oh wait, he's allegedly a Brit, right? The tattoo would be a Union Jack and "Oi! Wogs OUT!".

This type has a decidedly Contiental whiff about it, like the robot got rerouted through a European server.

Ok, you got me. From now on I will choose to always see race first, then people.
And every situation, project, group of people, film, award finale I ever encounter which has no black person in it, the word "RACISM" is all that I shout!
Better?
Because obviously, there can be no other reason that anything has no black person in it.
And while we are at it:

Ignored because of what? I'm just curious which reason you would pick from the endless list of factors that could be why a certain person is not nominated.

You just a race troll, boo.

You can find no context clues for why my joke is based on that particular movie receiving no Oscar nominations, Dave19?
Clearly, if you were to meet Idris Elba and you were to see a person and not notice he was black, you aren't very quick on the uptake.
I haven't been following, but has Dave19 confirmed whether he has seen all 305 films that were eligible for the Oscars yet?

Only the ones that spoke to him as a white.
I'm guessing.

Do you even have time to look at performances if color is all that you see?
saying you don't think Extremely Lame and Incredibly Cloying (the only movie that fits that description you gave)
Selma only got one nomination other than Best Picture, for Best Song. Probably fits somehow into the narrative of this thread too, if I weren't too lazy to to think on it further.

Why yes, I watch performances all the time. It's just that I don't pretend I don't notice the race and ethnicity of performers (I'm a multi-tacker!) so I can claim racism isn't a thing.

This is so stupid, just to appease a bunch of whiners. It is based on talent, not on skin color.

A large group of nearly homogeneous people is going to pick for "the best" the people who most resemble them. And this is why it is a good idea to get away from the old and the male and the white as the dominant arbiters of who gets an Oscar. NOT that it will necessarily result in immediate change, but just so that the people who make up the group of deciders don't all have the exact same blinders on.
Is THAT clear for the remedials?
The willlingness and drive to pursue the type of circular thinking that certain people have shown in this thread...it boggles the mind
