I really don't care. He's an okay singer, from what I saw on American Idol. I didn't watch every episode, but the ones I did watch, he was a yelling, screachy mess. I think he has bad taste in clothes and hair.
In other words, he's not my type.

Just to back him up from a technical standpoint, the only performance I think where he actually had some vocal issues was Black or White, and he's said himself that vocally that performance was his weakest and all over the place :) It was the only time where he seemed to be straining a little bit, and there were some pitch issues.
Other than that one performance I think it's all just a matter of taste. Because technically he was spot on and that "screaming" was fully supported with great technique. It's just a matter of if you like that vocal style or not, and obviously it's totally fine if you don't. Adam is the first to admit he's not for everyone! He's over the top and kind of crazy, so for people who don't like over the top you're probably not gonna like him. And that's cool. In his own words, "just, you know, go buy the other guy's record then, it's fine!" 
And yes, the snake is definitely real! In the video you see it sliding around his leg, and he gets a little squirmy about it hehe- too cute

So Adam gets a Rolling Stone cover. Adam gets an interview on 20/20...and today at work I couldnt remember Kris' last name. I had to think about it for a second.

In other news, water is wet and rocks are hard.
I doubt Kris is upset that Adam is getting more media attention. Adam is one of the most popular contestants the show has ever had so of course he's going to get a lot more media coverage. Kris is probably happy for Adam. They're best friends, they've said they talk to each other everyday and that they love each other, it's such a great friendship/bromance.
Now they're doing rehearsals for the tour and are recording their albums.

KISS co-founder, Gene Simmons, dropped by the FOX Philadelphia studios yesterday to talk about his A&E reality show, Family Jewels, but he also had a few thoughts and some advice for Idol runner up, Adam Lambert.
While Simmons said Adam is ?great and has a lot of talent,? adding that ?he?s got a future if he wants to sing in Queen or be on Broadway,? he doesn?t think he?s a true rock singer in the mold of Rolling Stone?s Mick Jagger.
He?s also had some advice for Adam, ?Mostly he should shut up about his sexual preferences. We, America, the rest of the world, really don?t care,? he added, ?I mean, if the story becomes ?I prefer farm animals to,? you know, who cares??
Uh, that?s quite a leap there, Gene.
The ever modest Simmons had this to say about performing with Adam at the Idol finale, ?How was it for him to perform with us, you mean?? he said. ?That?s right, I see. Well, you just have to realize who the governor is and who the little puppy is.?
That?s right, KISS is so relevant to rock music, Gene is now relegated to appearing in some crappy A&E reality show with his family?
