I had "Waiting For You" in my head all last week. "Someone Like You" might be the best song on there though.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

The new album is fantastic!!

She really has no equal from a vocal standpint, and her lyrics can be so honest and unaffected. It's a SOLID effort, and I think I like it more than her first album.

Top songs for me are:

Turning tables
Set Fire to the rain
One and Only
He Won't Go
Don't you Remember
"I'm an American, Damnit!!! And if it's three things I don't believe in, it's quitting and math."

such a great album. Between her & Esperanza Spalding, I can't stop listening to both of them.

I may have listened to Someone Like You about 50 times since I've first heard it..which was a little over a week ago.

This album is sick. My favorite tracks on the album:

Turning Tables
Don't You Remember
Someone Like You

When I first listened to Don't You Remember, I was like, wtf is this country song doing in this album. She sounds amazing and the song is beautiful.

I agree...this album is amazing
I agree with every track you all are saying but the one I am stuck on today is "One and Only" the pain/anguish in her voice is breath taking
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life. Define yourself"

This woman just keeps getting better and better. Her talent is just awe inspiring.

And I have to agree that "Someone Like You" is the best song on the album, it's been on repeat since I bought the album week. "Lovesong" and "One and Only" come in a close second for me, although the whole album is pretty fantastic.
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable." -F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise

I'm so glad that she's finally getting the gigantic success that she deserves. She's one of the most amazing voices out there right now, and even fills in that little empty place in my heart that Amy Winehouse left when she went seriously crazy.
"Why, I make more money than... than... than Calvin Coolidge! PUT TOGETHER!"

My name wasn't, isn't, and will never be Scott.

Thanks VCNY for posting this AMAZING singer. I have not heard something this good and superbly GENUINE and wrenching since 1985.

She's playing the Beacon on May 19th. Apparently it sold out on the first day.
