Phyllis, I agree that the parents should be able to name their kids whatever they want, but be then be prepared for the problems that come with having a child named Adolph Hitler.
Reg and MM are right. They're looking for a soapbox.

It's awful for the child, and he's probably going to have to change it if he wants to get anywhere in the world.

The beauty of living in this country - as much as it irks me - is that you can do stuff like this.

I feel bad for the kid - but you know, it might come and bite them in the rear. I have friends who are agnostic, and lo and behold their daughter is a religious freak.

Here's some more from another website: Heath on the other hand has found nothing inappropriate in the name. Although he admitted that the Nazis have done many bad things, but that is the matter of the past. At the same time he stressed on the fact that his children are not growing up in the conditions similar to the Nazi reign. So there is no chance of his son becoming another tyrannical Nazi leader.

This TRUE too! How inconsiderate these parents are. Like I said.. they branded their kids already.. Sometimes It's not the QUESTION of what they think is right or wrong. Its your parental instinct to protect for your children from probable harm!!!! These people~no matter what you call 'em- attention whores or bigots- in my book- they are WORST than wild animals (wild animals protect their youngs) exploiting their own children for their own 15 minutes of fame shame!

I disagree that these kids will be homeschooled. They'll be sent to public school, and then be the parents who don't want their kid exposed to anything outside their belief system. They'll be the ones constantly on the phone to the teachers, principals, and adminstration the second something doesn't go their way.

The only thing scary about it is the continuation of put-upon stupidity. Those parents can do anything they want, but the law can interfere if a judge surmises that a name will cause problems for a child.

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Police say three New Jersey siblings whose names have Nazi connotations have been placed in the custody of the state.

Holland Township Police Sgt. John Harris says workers from the state Division of Youth and Family Services on Tuesday 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell and his younger sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell from their home Tuesday.

Harris says family services did not tell police the reason the children were removed. Agency spokeswoman Kate Bernyk says it does not comment on specific cases.

The children and their parents, Heath and Deborah Campbell, received attention last month when a supermarket bakery refused to put Adolf Hitler Campbell's name on a birthday cake.
