I need to make a reservation at a hotel in June for when I see FOLLIES and was wondering if anyone could recommend an affordable (not hostel) hotel. I don't mind surround cities as long as they're close to the metro.
Thanks!
I think their rates can very, but my daughter's volleyball team recently sayed at the Holiday Inn Express near L'Enfant Plaza. OK hotel, good restaurant in lobby, convenient location.

Hotel Harrington. I was forced to stay here with friends when I was in DC recently. It wasn't the best in terms of my standards of quality, but it is livable, cheap, and in the heart of the city.
Try the link below and ignore the price the Kennedy Center says.
On a weekend the rates are much lower.
The River Inn is only $99 a night for many weekends (and it's close to the KC).
I unfortunately am attending the show on graduation weekend (for I assume Georgetown), and therefore could not get a room anywhere, so I am staying in nearby Arlington Virginia at a Sheraton.

The one and only time I used priceline was in DC. I got the Marriot on K street for $75/night the week before Christmas

I stayed at a Westin hotel right outside of DC for 99 dollars a night on the 4th of July!! It was a very nice hotel--and ridiculously cheap for that time. I didn't book until a day or two before I left too!
I remember years ago getting a good rate at the Barcelo hotel near Dupont Circle. I just googled it and it looks like Barcelo now operates a different hotel and the former Barcelo Radisson is now the Hotel Palomar, part of the Kimpton hotel chain.
Kimpton has a number of boutique hotel properties in DC which might be worth checking out.
