Are any of the Baldwin's worth crushing over anymore? Stephen is a write off obviously, the one whose name I can't remember was never... Howabout Billy? He was hot in Sliver. He seemed fine with doing love scenes with Candis Cayne on Dirty Sexy Money. Has he said anything lately?

I got to hang out with Billy at an event once (this is a hundred years ago now). He was there with Chynna, who was doing interviews and schmoozing with the press. It was an event for one of her projects. I was with three other friends, one of whom had interviewed Billy for a magazine, so Billy knew him already.

We were introduced, and he said, "Hey, do you mind if I hang out with you guys? My wife is kinda busy, and I don't want to get in the way."

I actually thought that was very considerate. He was a pretty big star right then, and the media could have easily focused on him instead of his wife (and it was her event, not his). So he stayed on the sidelines with us at this after-party.

I don't (and didn't) know anything about his social, political, or religious beliefs. I honestly hadn't read much about him. But he was such a nice guy. Hilarious, charming, completely relaxed, open, and a lot of fun. And he was hanging with four gay guys at an event and didn't think anything of it. He wasn't "posturing" or working the room, etc. I know this is overused, but he was very real and down-to-earth.

We had a blast that night! And Billy was part of our gang.

Billy was on Mohr Stories a while back and was totally charming and funny. And he and Chynna are still together!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I love when homophobic concern trolls pretend to be happy when somebody they don't like gets called out for saying something homophobic. It's like when somebody who has been callous and selfish when talking about poor people suddenly gets concerned that a bike sharing program isn't accessible to poor people. Even more transparent than Saran Wrap!

Somewhere, Shia Lebeof, Ireland Baldwin, Kim Basinger and a bunch of Flight Attendants are having a good laugh together!

I've had the pleasure of talking to Alec on the phone. His daughter stayed at my hotel and he called to confirm that everything was on file, and that she would be able to check in without any trouble. He was very polite and courteous. I liked that he called, and didn't have an assistant or someone else call.

Ireland was also very nice and polite. Tipped the maids well and she didn't leave the room a mess.

As far as the Bike sharing is concerned, Here in Brooklyn there is a large station right outside a City Housing Project. Gets used ALL the time by (gasp) poor people of color! Will post a picture to show Russian tw-t (I'd like to buy a vowel) she is full of troll shiat!

No offense to anyone, but what's that supposed to mean if you had an encounter with Alec Baldwin or two and that he was very nice? It means that he was nice to you that moment, be it for business (at the hotel) or work?

He showed himself on video to have anger management problems, a quick temper, and prone to making homophobic remarks. And his tv show is canceled at least for the next two weeks.

Because someone had a pleasant experience with someone else - do you think that means the person is not the difficult person he's been for years now?

Similarly, as Sontag states in "On Photography," visual images only represent a fraction of a moment in a life. Sean Penn has the same anger issues, particularly with paparazzi, and he also worked hard on the ground in Haiti after the earthquake. So, you know, people are complex.

For example, a homophobic troll can call out a public figure for a homophobic comment and pretend to be a better person than said public figure. What does the troll get put of it? Who knows. It's complicated pathology.

Not to compare him with Hitler (oh, but I love playing the Hitler card!) ...

I met a man who was a friend of my maternal grandfather's when I was about twelve years old. He had interviewed Adolf Hitler in 1932. The two things he remembered the most was how charming and polite he was and that his hair was actually a dark blond or light brown and his mustache was reddish. It always photographed darker because he slicked it back.

He said Hitler's "charming manner" haunted him for the rest of his life.

Yes, you're right Namo. People have many different moods.

Sean was definitely not pleasant at Mr. ciccone's birthday party one night. didn't crack a smile or sing happy birthday. And I was the poor shlemiel who had to take the pictures. I even asked him if it was ok. oy.

He's a genius at work, though.

What gets me is that many of the people on here simply giving Mr. Baldwin a pass for a slur I find quite insulting as a gay man are the same people who will turn around and voice extreme outrage over homophobic comments made by other celebrities who may not be considered as politically "progressive" (God, I just sounded like the troll there).

Best 12 made my point. Even HItler was charming at times. If that could happen, then anyone on the face of the earth can be charming at times.

I don't give him a pass for anything. I have always said of AB that you can take the mook out of Long Island but you can't take the Long Island mook out of the guy. He's responsible for what comes out of his mouth when he's enraged; there's no defending that. My reaction to any such Baldwin event at this point is usually along the lines of, "Oh, some reporter or pap baited the bear and the bear got angry and took a swipe? It must suck to have to make your living baiting bears."

Fair enough. It's just amazing to me what double standard do, in fact, exist within our community. Not a comment on BWW or this, just in general. The entire gay community.

Usually the free pass is given to pretty people. Then again, most of our biggest celebrities are pretty people.

It's okay if he's a dick or she's a bitch ... because look how HAWT they are.

Ugh.

I met a woman when I was 12 who almost met Hitler too.

She had a number tattooed on her forearm.

Her name was Mrs. Epstein, and she was my Hebrew school teacher.

Whenever she she had to use his name--which was as seldom as possible, because she considered it as hateful a thing as there could be--she would follow it with the Hebrew phrase "Y'mach sh'mo v'zikhro," which means "May his name and memory be obliterated from history."

I'm indifferent to Baldwin's looks. I just feel like his issues are about anger management, not homophobia. I'd rather save my own anger for people whose lives make clear their bigotry, be it race- or sexual orientation-based.

I don't know the man, so I could certainly be wrong. Just going by what I've read.

At any rate, the remarks were inappropriate and he's being punished for them.
