A person you don't know uses a word you don't like in a situation where you don't know the circumstances. And this is somehow "not minor" in your world.

This thread has inspired me. Next time somebody pees me off so bad I wanna hurt them, I'm gonna call them a flower. Less hurtful than the more specific "pansy".
And Borstal,

Apparently gorgeous silver daddy hair can not be separated from personal/political context. We all agree that the world would be a better place if homophobic words weren't Alec Baldwin's go-to when he is enraged. Of course we can see right in the personal/political context of this very thread that when a troll baits a target it's hard to give a SH*T about its complaints when it gets the exact reaction it was looking for.

Is there a nice short abstract for that treatise?
1. Don't use "fag"--it's the word we hear before a fist meets our eye socket or a bottle is smashed on our head.
2. Don't use "fag" as a synonym for "asshole."
3. Only Fred Flintstone says "fathead."
4. Don't use "cocksucking" as a slur.
5. If your go-to slur of choice is always homophobic, you will be held accountable.
6. It is better to suck****than to talk about it.
...and in a thread just a post or two below this, someone asks if Meryl Streep has "ever played a man - I mean, besides Julia Child".
Which could only have been meant as an insult to Julia Child.
We tolerate that and even laugh at it, but spend 5 pages discussing Alec Baldwin's insulting use of the term 'fag'.
Insults against women are ok, but insults against gay men are not?
Just trying to understand the world according to BWW...
You're absolutely right. I brought your comment to JungleRed's attention in the other thread.

MSNBS Gives Alec Baldwin the Boot Following Anti-Gay Slurs
MSNBC must be thrilled to get rid of this primmadonna. not to mention his ratings were looking up at CSPAN4
FROM THE ABOVE LINK...
the firing may also be due in part to the 'Orphan's star treatment of his
co-workers, including a demand for a makeup room which was separate from one being used by a woman with cancer who was sensitive to hairspray. After being denied the request, Baldwin allegedly raged, "I don't give a f**k if she has cancer or not, I Want That f**king makeup room."

Im not interested in getting into it with you Carlos. I prefer to stay on topic.
But what you posted isn't really on topic now is it? This thread isn't about Alec Baldwin's shows ratings. It's about his silver daddy perfection.
EDIT: Namo and Liza beat me to it.

How long until Alec Baldwin morphs into Dennis Miller?

‘Lean out the door’: Potty-mouthed Martin Bashir resigns from MSNBC
After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.
I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers – who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. I would also wish to express deepest gratitude to my immediate colleagues, and our contributors, all of whom have given so much of themselves to our broadcast.’

Has Sarah Palin apologized for what she said yet? It was far more vile than anything Bashir said.
