Anyone remember this made for t.v. musical back in the 80s? For some reason, I thought about it today, which is odd because I haven't seen it SINCE the 80s. Anyway, I looked it up and found out that it is now on dvd and has both of it's parts included in it: "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass." I just added it to my que from Netflix, and I can't wait to see it again. **SQUEE**
Oh, and for those that don't know or don't remember, Carol Channing is in it as the "White Queen."
Never heard of it.
Is that the POLTERGEIST girl?

There was a thread about this not to long ago..
I've yet to see it, but I want to. I have seen clips of Carol singing "Jam Tommorow, Jam Yesterday" and I love it.
But NOTHING beats this one:
Yes, NLS, something beats that one.
The version that spider posted was a standard for me as a child.
It was very difficult to find until they released it on DVD last year. (Yes, I own it now).
The whole thing is very cracked out, and it's actually a little terrifying.
Search the sight that cannot be named for a clip of Carol singing "Jam Tomorrow Jam Yesterday." CREEPY.
Though the creepiest part of the movie is when Carol repeatedly says "Better. Better! BEEEEEEEETTEEEEEERRRRR!" then turns into a sheep.

I just REALLY like that version of "Alice". At first I got it just for Nathan Lane but I ended up loving it.
And also, I liked the Hallmark movie with Martin Short, Whoopi Goldberg and Gene Wilder:
Oh God, that TV movie was unbearable. Even the brilliant Miranda Richardson gives one of the worst performances of her career as the Queen of Hearts.
The one from the 80's scared the crap out of me as a child. Remeber the dragon?
The Jabberwocky? I don't really remember that scene. The only one that sticks out vividly in my brain, is the one with Sammy Davis Jr. as the caterpiller.

It wasn't THAT bad. It was okay. I only really liked it for Martin Short and Gene Wilder.

That movie scared the bloody hell out of me.
I was probably 4 the first time I saw it and I was terrified of Carol Channing.

The 1985 version also had Sherman Helmsley!
I remember this movie. Part 2, with the Jabberwocky, scared the **** out of me.
The Jam Tomorrow Jam Yesterday scene is why I own this movie. Hysterical.
I have the version that NathanLaneStalker mentioned on VHS.

I bought the 1985 version for my boyfriend. It's dreadful! I wouldn't call it a musical. It's more like a movie with songs. The songs do nothing for the plot, or characters, or anything.
But it's pretty freakin' cute. Carol's great as the White Queen.
I loved that version of the movie. But I agree, the Jabberwocky terrified me.
I need to go buy this on DVD now.

i had such a crush on Ann Jillian, i thought she was soooo beautiful.
As a child, Carol Channing in this movie SCARED THE LIVING POOPY out of me!! I recently saw a clip of "Jam" on youtube and I have no idea what scared me.
My mind told me that she pricked her finger on a rose and bled all over her white dress. Many years later I watched the clip and reliazed she pokes herself with a broach . . . oh, boy.
Her pre-cut screaming scene is hilarious! That facial expression and the sound together make pure entertainment.
Does anyone remember ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND from the early 1990's on Disney Channel?
I certainly do! I was quite amused by that show . . . I still have some on tape . . . shhh don't tell my friends!
Then there is always the 1970's version which is a musical porn of Alice In Wonderland. It's become a cult classic at my college, with repeated screenings. Didn't they try to make it an off-broadway musical a few years ago?
A little side note - I found out last year that the star of the porn version is indeed one of my friend's mom from high school. Small world, huh?

My siblings and I used to watch that all the time! I don't remember much about it at all; I just remember all 4 of us absolutely loving it!
