yay! I'm really excited for this.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I?
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This looks great but I wonder if they're turning the Hatter into more of a main character than he has been in previous incarnations.

Helena Bonham Carter does look very odd, indeed:

Wow! I love the Cheshire cat! I'm glad that they are bringing a new approach for the movie than copying stuff from the animated version.

This is just going to be another Depp-fest because Burton's up Depp's ass. I'm sorry, but their constant pairing just pisses me off. Burton being director is the ONLY reason Depp got Sweeney and the only reason he got the Hatter. And the plot is going to revolve way too much around his character. I guarantee it.
Ugh.

It seems that it is a loose blend of both books, with the White and Red Queens substituted for the Queen of Hearts - though Crispin Glover is the Knave of Hearts. No Ugly Duchess, either.
There is a LOT of adapting...what is "The Hatter Clan"? And who are these other characters? Lord and Lady Ascot?? Faith Chataway?? Huh?!?!
Sort of Alice in Wonderlandish

can I say that I am happy that when Alice drank from the bottle and shrank, that her clothes stayed the same size? It always bugged me seeing that in other translations. Granted, we don't want kiddie porn, but it wouldn't be possible for the clothes to shrink along with Alice.

Oh, I didn't know Crispin Glover was going to be in this one! He's so ridiculous, and I love him for it.

I don't understand how something like that could bug you in a story like Alice in Wonderland where nonsense is the name of the game.

I'm sorry spider, but that's so funny. Like, the clothes shrinking is the implausible part. Hee!

I really like how the white rabbit, march hare, and Cheshire cat actually look like animals, rather than animal-like people. Otherwise, you get terrifying incarnations like this March Hare(what is that, a rabbit or a donkey?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZmktVFsCXE

Doesn't it sort of look like she falls into the Tree of the Dead from "Sleepy Hollow"?

I love the trailer, but I am concerned about it deviating from the book. Why, oh why?

I won't comment on any possible story lines since I haven't seen the movie or read the screenplay.
All of the characters look amazing. Mia Whateverherlastname is looks a lot like Gwenyth Paltrow though, who kinda irritates me.

Well we should wait and see :P. I mean, I know it seems like they keep beating a dead horse but Depp has had a lot of success with Burton. By consensus Sweeney was a decent movie and Johnny was recognised by the academy for his performance, which would suggest they are doing something right :).

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

I have to say that I have never liked most movies made by Burton but this one actually looks interesting (and I'm not a fan of Alice in Wonderland.)
But am I the only one that, when the Mad Hatter came on the screen, I thought he looked like the Joker?
