If SUNSET BLVD were to be remade (god-forbid...unless its the musical) for 2007, who would the has-been cameos at the table be?

They key is that the three washed-up legends have to have a familar face but can't be names widely known to today's audience.

Here are my picks:

1) Elaine Stritch or Rosemary Harris
2) Glynis Johns
3) Mickey Rooney or Ron Moody

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Is Elaine Stritch really considered a has-been?

No Kringas; to the vast majority of movie-goers she's a "Never Was".

I heard a rumor about 2 years ago ( I'm sure this is old news) that has always stuck in my head. Barbara Streisand directing and starring in SUNSET BLVD: THE MUSICAL . One has to wonder what she could/would have done to this if it were to be true.

So if it were updated for 2007, what would be the filmmaking convention that ruined Norma's career?

Maybe this time it's a scandal, not sound.

Or maybe Norma had a webcast that was rendered obsolete.
