Okay, I don't know about the movie (other than it looks interesting), but as for John Schneider, sue me, but I'm a fan, I don't care if he is a Republican. They're not all bad! Have never particularly noticed the crotch bulge you speak of (lol) but I think he made the sexiest "Pa Kent" ever! Actually met him very briefly, by chance, many years ago, just post-Dukes, I think it would've been. He seemed like a very gracious and nice guy. I get the idea that you don't care for him, which is cool. Whatever floats -- or doesn't -- your boat. Anyway, if you're referring to the '69 Dodge Charger owned by Schneider which was used as one of the "General Lee" cars on Dukes of Hazzard and which sported the 2nd Confederate Naval Jack on its roof, it was sold at auction in 2009 for $230,000.

Wow. Super pro-life movie. They had a quote from an "abortion survivor." I am not trying to be unfeeling, but is that a woman who had an abortion and didn't die or a late term abortion where the fetus survived? To each his or her own. It doesn't look half bad.
I hope it's better than that horrible Kirk Cameron movie called Fireproof. I watched that horrible thing, thinking it was about a crisis of faith, but it was about a dude with a porn addiction. He also refused to kiss the actress who played his wife, so in the final scene, it was his real wife. They have a new film called Courageous that many of my friends called fantastic. I am afraid of it.

I suspect it will go the way of the Ayn Rand trilogy, but it's good for folks to know if somehow this movie does earn any money it will support the important work of the American Family Association and its front groups like One Million Moms.

Posted: 2/9/12 at 10:52amI don't know that I'll rush out to see it, but I found nothing objectionable about it, including the organizations to which it has earmarked its profits. They appear to be pro-adoption organizations, and I think there is still a stigma attached to adoption in this country, at least toward women who give up their children. This movie doesn't appear to be any more anti-abortion than Juno.

Did somebody mention abortion survivor?
And Kirk Cameron basically sabotaged the character of Mike Seaver in latter Growing Pains seasons. He got the actress who played his girlfriend fired for posing in Playboy and decided Mike Seaver was no longer a bad influence on kids so story lines by writers were cut to follow his born-again Christian image. The rest of the cast, notably Alan Thicke, were not too pleased with the amount of power he wielded.

John Schneider as Harold Hill was one of the worst, er, "star" casting decisions I've ever seen play out on stage.
Is Chris Farley's brother in this one, too? He always complains how his Republican views cost him work so I think he'd be a shoo-in for this one.
(btw, who releases a film called "October Baby" in March? I can't wait to see the AFA "Say Happy Holidays And You're Dead CHRISTmas Spectacular" this June!)

Posted: 2/9/12 at 1:38pmTosh.O made fun of a series of anti-abortion videos this week where people "give up" something until abortion is outlawed. They were pretty ridiculous- people swearing off Coke or Ice Cream or their I-Pod until "abortion is over." Maybe you could do one of those, Phyllis.
