I used to love these...I have all the old books, not all these new ones (due to the fact that we haven'tbought any in maybe 10 years), and I had a Kirsten doll. I always watned a molly, though, because her name is the same as mine, but never got her.

I loved American Girl! i esp. loved Felicity and have almost all of her accesories and clothes. I also have Samantha. I have some clothes from other dolls though. I've read all the small books and have read most of the original books. i also have a bitty baby my grandparents gave me.

I LOVED American Girl when I was younger. I have... Molly, Felicity, Kirsten, Addy, and Samantha. I think I had a set for Samantha, too. I really liked Samantha for some reason...

Man, nostaaaaalgia.

I had Felicity. My sister got Samantha because they both have brown hair and I got Felicity because we have red hair. My grandmother would buy us clothes and what not for birthdays and hannukah. I would go with my grandmother to shops in PA (like Lancaster)where they had clothes that fit the dolls (they were cheaper then the catalog stuff)

I cut my dolls hair re: American Girls Books/Dolls It kept getting tangly so I cut it. It's not as pretty anymore.

re: American Girls Books/Dolls

Another old AG love here. I too was into it when it was the 5 of them. I think it started in 2nd/3rd grader when my teacher read us the meet Addy book, and then we started flipping through the catalogue. I decided I wanted a doll for my birthday or chanukah, don't remember which, and I'm pretty sure I wanted Samantha because I thought she was pretty but my family convinced me to get Molly because I looked like her(greeat). Got Samantha the next year, think I had bought most of their books by then. Unfortunately my best friend since I was 4 broke Molly's arm off playing with her. And then there was a fire and I lost both of the dolls...sad.

But fun times. I remmeber a friend of mine had Addy in third grade and I had Molly and we went to each other's houses to celebrate their birthdays. And eventually for one reason or another I think I eventually read all of the books on the 5(Kirsten and Felicity being the other two).

Also agree that I loved the historic nature of the girls, particularly their stories. And I used to loove to read about all the accessories, but thankfully never got myself to the point where I had to buy them.

re: American Girls Books/Dolls

I was too young for the 3 originals, but I remember when Addy was brand new and they only had the collection for her first 3 books. I had Kirsten and I begged my parents to get me more of them, but they thought one was enough. Hmph. I almost want to go back and buy them now just because they're so interesting. And because I'm a geek.

I met Valerie Tripp, the author of the Felicity and Molly books, a few times. She lives in my area and my dad's a librarian, so she used to have readings and book signings at local libraries.
