And by the way, Blake was so annoying with all the faces and "jokes" and stuff. Sort of like a less charming Jordin.
I still like Jordin, but the fact that Blake is in the finals is a joke. His voice isn't that strong, and the beatboxing stuff is a lame diversion.
OK OK, I'm done whining. I did enjoy his singing "Somewhere Only We Know" last night, the only Blake performance I loved.

What is the matter with America. I just don't understand.
The good thing for Melinda is that she doesn't need the title of American Idol to have a hit record or an amazing career. She may have needed the competition to get her name out there but not the win.

The person everyone assumes is a shoo-in (sp?) often doesn't win because no one bothers to vote for them because they assume she is so good she is guaranteed to get through. I voted for Blake because I wanted it to be a Blake/Melinda final (because I do not like Jordin) and I assumed Melinda was safe. My bad. I also think America often likes the person with the most character over the person who is the best singer.
Melinda will have a career regardless now that her name and her talent is out there. It's probably better for her to not have won, because she won't be stuck in the American Idol contract for a year or whatever the term is.
