alright, if Blake stays after next week's results then they should just throw in the towel. Give it to either Jordin or Melinda.
Of course since Taylor Hicks won last year I suppose they'd give it to a guy with some sort of shtick. I don't care for Blake's voice and I HATE HATE HATE white boys who beatbox.
I lost hope when Phil went home. He was the best male voice on the show.

My mom liked Phil... she was saddened by his departure.
Every Tuesday night, I'd have to hear "GEN! GET THE PHONE! I HAVE TO VOTE FOR PHIL!!!"
Yeah.
Those were good times.
I actually was surprised that Blake didn't go home. Let's just hope he learns a lesson and won't try to sprinkle 'teh beat box' on the remainder of his performances.

I think next week Blake needs to step it up if he wants to even remain in the competiton. Melinda and Jordin bring it every week, they pick great songs and they don't need a beatbox shtick to further themselves.
I love Jordin and I'm rooting for her!

Posted: 5/10/07 at 9:11amDamn, I was hoping Blake would go home this week. I have a feeling he could win it now. Being the only guy he will get votes just for that. Jordin and Melinda could split the vote. I think Lakisha deserved to go home long ago, but I wanted her to stay this week to ensure Melinda and Jordin were the two final its. I have a feeling it will be Blake and Jordin, with Jordin winning.

I think Barry Gibb should win American Idol.
I was a little disappointed in his performance, but I guess he's already proven himself.
I was bummed he didn't sing "How Deep is Your Love" which is my favorite Bee Gees song, and one of the best sad love songs ever written (IMO). I thought that would be his pick since none of the contestants sang it and it's so well known. Oh well.
I don't think Pink was mic'd properly. Something seemed off - the background singers were loud and clear, but Pink was muffled a bit.
But Barry Gibb - I still dig him.

I don't know-seeing that he's 61 yrs. old, he sounded pretty good to me!

Indeed, Jane2. I must cut him some slack! He did sound good. I think I just wanted to hear my favorite song...and got a little bummed that I didn't! He's still got it though.
So, I was glad to see LaKisha go. Now, I'm not sure what I think. I kind of like Blake still. At least he's interesting (even if he's not the most talented).

Speaking of mic problems, way to not have Melinda's mic up at the beginning of the group number. Whoops.
Anyway, I think that unless Blake gives one hell of a performance next week, it's clearly between Melinda and Jordin. Even Melinda needs to have a better performance next week. If I had to decide based on this week, my vote goes to Jordin, but I'm rooting for Melinda.

That FANTASTIC FOUR 2 sneak peek was pretty awesome.

Why should his age be a consideration? He still sounded like
sh!t. People should take a lesson from Beverly Sills, leave them remembering you at your best with plenty of recordings and always make them beg for more. An unpleasant sound is an unpleasant sound the brother, did he sound unpleasant. Stop singing Barry. That goes for you, too, Neil and Rod.

I still think he used to be sexy.
On another note, doesn't Blake resemble Kayne from Project Runway? That just dawned on me.

Blake is a snooze...can't really sing all that well and the beatbox thing is so 10 years ago. I do think he has talent, and he has a good ear for interesting arrangements. Would make a great music producer.
I hope Melinda DOESN'T win, cause it would be another Ruben/Clay situation. Jordin might end up eclipsing her. My pic is
JORDIN #1
MELINDA #2
BLAH, I mean BLAKE #3

i'm so glad to see i'm not the only one who is hoping to see blake go home time and time again. it's supposed to be a singing competition, not a 'rearranging' competition. when it comes to vocal talent, melinda AND jordin blow blake out of the water. i'd be happy to see either of the girls win, although i do think melinda is a bit more talented (probably due to age and experience) than jordin. but jordin is definitely growing on me
i was sad to see lakisha go home last night. sure, i don't think she should win but she should definitely have stuck around longer than blake. the only reason blake would possibly make it into the finals (pray to god he doesn't!) is because of his 'blaker girls' (ugh how lame can you get?!).

Posted: 5/10/07 at 5:01pmi was just reading Vote For the Worst, and apparently someone found that on Tuesday travel arrangements were made for LaKisha to go home but nobody else (meaning that the show is fixed) it wouldn't surprise me at all if that were true... did anyone else hear anything about this?

Singingbackup, those are my order of picks too, except I would've preferred if Blake went home over Lakisha. Even though there was some really weird voting this year (coughcoughSanjayacoughcough), I think America has got it right...I have a strong feeling that Melinda and Jordin will be in the top two, with Jordin winning. If it's down to Melinda and Blake (which I doubt), I'll be rooting for Melinda.
I am not impressed with Blake's beatboxing either. I remember one performance he did the arrangements and it sounded so...corny.
Melinda and Jordin are gonna both get a record deal no matter what. So who cares who wins at this point?

True, some people should stop singing when they don't sound good anymore. I agree. But Barry still sounds good to me.

agreed, AmericanBoy99.
That peformance was simply fantastic.
Her voice is so crisp and perfect.
I love Jordin.
I disagree with Simon, I liked the jazzy arrangement
Go Jordin!

What did Jordin sing? I missed it!!
I think Paula's pick for Blake was perfect for him... that's going to help him
