Thelma Houston, Donna Summers, Anita Ward, Tavares...the choices for "disco" would have been far better for all three than "Bee Gees" alone. And it still would have worked with Barry as a mentor.
I actually think Blake would have done well with an '80s night! Howard Jones, When in Rome, Alphaville, Soft Cell...plenty of those cool, new wave songs would have been really suitable for his voice. It's fun to think about.
I really think he is going home tonight.

I love the Bee Gees, but I can see the point about making it an "all around" disco night. As long as Barry is still the mentor, because I totally dig the guy.

Me too. He reminds me of my Dad, who loved the Bee Gees.

I'm not about to say that I think Jordin will be one of the greatest singers of all time, but the girl's got talent.
I think she has a great career ahead of her. And, she seems genuine to me. I'm a fan.

I think he was hot in the 70s. My husband thinks I'm crazy.

He's hot in that smoldering Australian Aborigine way!

I did, and I have to agree - the girl has amazing talent.
She definitely had the best performance last night.
Blake just went a wee bit overboard with the beat-boxing. And I use the term "a wee bit" in the loosest form possible.

WHY didn't anyone do "How Deep is Your Love?", the most gorgeous Bee Gees song ever? I know, they did it in the group sing, but I would have loved to hear someone do the whole song.
No one really wowed me last night, but I'm still all for Melinda and Jordin. LaKisha is a fine singer, but I don't think she has the likability factor of the other ladies.
Blake. I've given up hope on him. Let him sing "Somewhere Only We Know" or "Time of the Season" and I'm onboard. Otherwise, meh. When I realized during his rehearsal that he'd be beatboxing both songs, I actually screamed in frustration.

I thought that in general last night was a weak show. I love the bee gee's but thought that they would have picked some other songs. Jordin seemed to be the only strong one last night.
I still give all them credit as they are all amazing!

Best thing to ever happen on American Idol Wednesday Nights...
Ryan Seacrest- "So who do you think is going to win [American Idol]?"
Cute Little Girl- "The Lakers."
Ryan Seacrest- "Yeah I think they have a good shot."

Posted: 5/9/07 at 9:26pmOy, what just happened? The four of them are singing, and as I looked at all of them, I decided I can't stand any of them anymore!!! Is it overkill or are they really a motley crew?

Posted: 5/9/07 at 10:26pmIt's LaKisha. Just say it. If people don't wanna know who got kicked off, they shouldn't click on a thread that clearly says 'American Idol', knowing the results have been revealed.
