The comments for Lee tonight just don't ring true. He definitely has been overpraised and under pitch.

Yeah, I really don't get the excessive praise for him. I don't get HIM.
I LOVE Hallelujah, it's one of my favorite songs, but that was just one big f*cking no. Hated it.

Crystal and Lee should definitely be in the final two. That said, I was underwhelmed by both their performances tonight. Crystal should have knocked it out of the park with Come To My Window. She didn't. For some reason, she just doesn't seem capable of really letting go. Wish she had a little more Janis in her; or Melissa, for that matter. Lee's rendition of Hallelujah was an overblown misfire. That's not the way that song should be song. I think Jason Castro did a better job of it a couple of seasons ago. And if you really want to hear the way that song should be sung, listen to k.d. lang's version. She may not have written, but she owns it every time she sings it!

Posted: 5/19/10 at 7:06amI hated the overly dramatic arrangement of the song, and the choir was definitely a misfire, but if you can push those to the side, and listen, it was an incredible (if not perfect), passionate vocal. I'd love him to record it with just his guitar.

Lee is way over praised. Hallelujah has already been done this season as well by Tim so to re-do it says "hmmm, he can knock this one out of the park" boring.
My favourite song and fave version is the original Leonard Cohen. second would be Kd Lang and then the WORLD Idol winner from Norway and friends do a crackin' version.
the only winner there is Crystal. too many people expected her to be Melissa so I think maybe the pressure got to her? she is great.

yeah, but that is what i meant by my comment as to why it was chosen. why did they have to choose that one. they figured he would be amazing i assume. it was a safe choice for the judges to pick and it is boring because it has already been done. that's all i meant. i mean, ellen hugged tim after his version and they re-cylce it for Lee. ugh!

Crystal should have bagged the harmonica. It did nothing but put a blah beginning and ending on an otherwise good performance.
That said, Casey doesn't belong on the same stage with Crystal and Lee.

right decision.
i actually got a little choked up. even seeing crystal in her home town visit. she just has it. she may bring back the whole janice joplin vibe thing. (not so much voice, but free and easy look)

Posted: 5/20/10 at 1:41pmI thought Lee did pretty well this week. I liked his first song choice better than Simons choice for him. I thought Crystals performance was mediocre. I didnt care for the harmonica and I dont like her tone some of the time...IMO Lee definitely has this season of AI in the bag.

Totally underwhelmed.
I'd still hit it with Lee, but he just lacks that fire in the belly.
Crystal just can't deliver a big vocal - she's a solid coffee house, hippy chick, but she can't soar up there.
It will be very interesting to see how they market either of them as the winner - a situation I think that troubleed them with last year's winner - Kris - now what?

I feel the last night went to Crystal but Lee could still win because no one votes more than teenage girls who might think he's cute.
It is odd to me that the winner's first single is going to be a cover.

Posted: 5/26/10 at 3:49pmI like them both, but last night belonged to Crystal, and by a fairly wide margin. Her last performance was brilliant. I think the idea of a cover as a single is better than some of the crappy songs they've done in the past. I'd buy Crystal's single in a minute.

Turns out that Crystal and Lee selected the songs that will be their first single. Why Lee selected Beautiful Day is beyond me. I think people would rather just hear Bono.
Crystal's choice was much smarter although it could draw comparisons to Kelly Clarkson since she sang it on the first Idol Gives Back and it was available for purchase. I own it.
