Question, where was Mrs. Costa Rica during the second take?

Would you believe that no one in Costa Rica is talking about this?

Backstage crying and being consoled. TRAIN WRECK!

BTW: The winner, Mrs. Russia is 19 and married less than a year. Mrs. China, is 18 and has been married less than 3 months. Updated On: 6/13/06 at 11:44 AM

This was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on television. I watched the entire pageant, which was hosted by the very greasy Alan Thicke.

They tried to make it into a "reality" show. The contestants had to "vote" someone back into the pageant.

Hysterical!

I believe that Mrs. Costa Rica was backstage, several contestants never returned.

Why wouldnt a 19 year old model (married a mere 6 months) NOT win?

Wait...you watched the entire pageant and neglected to tell all of us it was on?!

Maybe it is time to send in Jimmy Carter to make sure everything was on the up and up?

This was a total fluke!
We were at friends for dinner, and I screamed to keep it on while we were flipping the channels...
I made everyone watch...the straight husband will likely never forgive me.

Dottie, you KNOW I'd never let you down...we probably have the same things season passed on Tivo.

Perhaps Ms. Harris can assist.

We go there often, and I've made them watch Beyond the Valley of the Dolls!
The wife loves this stuff, so he gets outvoted quickly.

Oh man, what a disaster! That was the funniest goddamn thing I've seen in a long time.

Even though Mrs. Russia seemed like a snot (waving her hips as she finally got the crown and strutting about), I have to admit that I thought her dress was stunning.

I'm going to have to do some research and see when the Mrs. USA pageant is. I caught it a couple of years ago with Florence Henderson as the host, and the pageant itself was a complete joke. I laughed the entire time.

Florence Henderson had to be better than Alan Thicke. He just seems so smarmy now.

The current Mrs. America was just crowned about three months ago DD. Andrea was Mrs. California. Trivia that only SOMMS would know: Andrea was Miss Virgina (Miss America Pageant) and was dethroned before the MA pageant for having lied on her fact sheet. She plumped up her academic history to include a Rhodes Scholarship.

The ending WAS priceless, but when the cameras went backstage during all of the controversies (someone being voted off, a la Survivor, then someone else being voted back into the top 10...all the contestants were furious) THAT was very, very funny.

Actually, SG, she wasn't. It was really sad to see. Sad, but funny at the same time.
