It's the bangs that do her in. Bangs on anyone over 30 make you look ridiculous. When she had a different hairstyle for that one episode of SMASH...I think it was her first date with that bartender...she didn't look half bad.

As for the bangs, they do say after a certain age, it's a no no. But my shock with Angelica's appearance is how much like a cartoon she looks now. I guess it's a crapshoot whenever you have that much work done.

I think she looks good, then and now. She doesn't look to me as if she's overdone it on the surgery, or even as if she's had any at all. She's just older now, is all.

Seriously. I don't see her as grotesque or anything, and it's not as obvious as say, Joan Rivers or Sharon Osbourne. It never even entered my mind until reading it here...but maybe I just don't have an eye for these things.
