Anna Nicole Smith has died

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but does anyone else think it's very odd that Howard Stern was in the room when Daniel died under mysterious circumstances and now the same thing happens to Anna with him there?? IDK, I don't trust Howard as far as I can throw him. It's all very weird and I feel so bad for that poor little baby girl.
Anna always did emulate Marilyn Monroe, and it looks like she followed in her footsteps to the end. Wow.

WalkOn PM'd me with an interesting question... and I don't think I'm betraying any confidences to share it with you because it opens this thread up to the heart of the matter...
WalkOn's question in his PM (A respectful question):
Have you really NEVER judged someone "in death." I'm not being facetious. I've just never meet a person who can honestly say that.
Best12 (my respectful response):
I can honestly say that.
I think we are just getting to the root of the issue here too... The big question: Are we really talking about Anna Nicole's life or her death? Are people either sad or dismissive in regards to her life or her death?
Does a person's life include their death... and/or afterlife, if one believes in that?
This is where it becomes a VERY personal and complicated... and apparently HEATED issue. Because we're diving into religious beliefs... moral, human, spiritual and deeply personal values.

does a person's death include her life?
#128re: Anna Nicole Smith has died
Posted: 2/8/07 at 6:52pmThis is very sad.To be honest, I wasn't very shocked when I found this out though.

I simply cannot believe it took to the sixth page for someone to question that slimey pr*ck Howard K. Stern. He was in the room when the son died, claimed to be the father of the newborn, married Anna on a yacht not long after she buried her son and now...she's dead.
It's been how long since we've had a celebrity murder trial?

I don't think anyone here, including myself, is happy that she died.
So is to be "unmoved" by a death a "judgement in death?"
Also, If a child is murdered...or I lose a loved one, I usually think that they died too soon...
would that also a be a judgement in death?

It's one thing to say she was a dumb, pretty girl who was given millions of opportunities and screwed up every single one of them. That's a comment about her life.
It's another thing to say (to the effect of) "who cares if she dies?"
There is no need to put death on a giant scale of judgment and "rate" the order of a person's death as it compares to others... how much we should care, or be sad, or rejoice.
Two different subjects and two different issues: A person's life, and a person's death.
Today people are reacting to her death... but also reflecting on her life. There is a separation here causing much confusion and emotional conflict. And people don't know how to articulate it.

"I guess I'll be the first to say I'm not sad about her dying. In fact, her daughter will probably be better off without her."
Um, you do realize that she was a real person, right? Whether she deserved to or not isn't the question, nor is if anyone saw it coming. It's frightening to think that a life is so quickly extinguished.

Just to be clear on this point.. I never said who cares if she dies? Others may have, but not I
I found her antics in life very entertaining. And I'm finding her death has PERSONAL value to me as a cautionary tale.

A cautionary tale of what?
On the issue of her daughter, surely we can have empathy for the fact that this girl will always be asking quesitons about her whole family! She has been given a very hard road in front of her, and her difficulties have been determined at such a young age. If we can't feel bad/sad etc about Anna's death, is it understandable to feel sympathy for someone she left behind?

My father thinks that her late husbands family is trying to kill off her family line to stop the claim on his estate.

Death is THE great taboo, let's face it. People avoid dealing with it even though it's going to happen to each of us.
When anyone dies, it reminds us of how vulnerable we are and how we really have no control over life. When someone famous dies, it forcefully drives home the fragility of our existence because celebrities seem larger than life, immune to the everyday travails we mere mortals suffer.
This particular famous person was fraught with frailties. Her flaws--her vulnerability--were played out on tabloids, web sites...even on her own "reality" TV series. As bizarre and different her life was from mine, I can identify with her in death because I know that my fate will be the same as hers...as will everyone's.
I don't feel sorry for the life she led. She made her choices and lived as she wanted to. But I do sense that she was a tortured soul, and she certainly suffered when her grown son died right before her eyes.
I don't think any of this is about "judgment." I think it's about our own sense of loss and longing, life unfulfilled and the finality of death. These are things we all have to face whether we want to or not. No matter how glamorous, wealthy or talented someone is, they're going to die and NOTHING is going to stop it.
We are all powerless. This is why we are able to empathize...if we choose to.

Posted: 2/8/07 at 8:00pmYou know, for a lot of you, there aren't enough grips in the world for all of you to get the one you need. Give a tad of drama to theater queens and they run with it like its the baton in a gold medal track meet.

Posted: 2/8/07 at 8:25pmTee hee...........seriously though, I had a couple actor friends over earlier and we literally laughing our a$$es off reading some of the high drama and flowery stuff in some of these posts. I wonder how many of these self-righteous yappers do volunteer work or anything else to back up their words of caring. I mean, if you REALLY care, donate your time at a shelter for the homeless, the home of many addicts without reality TV shows, rather than blathering on about some stranger you didn't even know. Care and feel as sad about the living who can still be helped. To those of you who are doing just that, kudos.

I sponsor a child through CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL.

I also donate food stuff and sundry items to the LOS ANGELES REGIONAL FOOD BANK at least three times a year.

I encourage EVERYONE who cares about Anna Nicole to contribute to these charities or another in her name.
I'm also not ashamed to admit that once when things were bad for me, the L.A. Regional Food bank was there to help.

Posted: 2/8/07 at 8:47pmHamlet... instead of sitting around with your like-minded friends and judging others that you don't know from Adam, maybe you should practice a little of what you preach and do something more constructive and worth while with your time. If you have so much disdain for aspiring actors and all their "drama", why the f*@k are you wasting so much of your precious time on a Broadway message board?

Penny---Perfectly put.
And Hamlet---Glad we posters could provide some light entertainment for you and your superior friends.
You really bore me.
It's much easier to write off the heavy topics than to actually try to form your own opinion about them. You put together a bunch of strong words that don't really say much of anything, except to condemn and to judge. You take the easy road rather than to address any "serious" topic. So go laugh with your superior friends and learn nothing new about yourself or anyone else who posts on BWW.
It's so much more "cool" that way. And you do have your image to preserve.
