I'll say it again: at the end of the day, it's really NOT about the sanctity of marriage, it's about money. Social Security benefits/Insurance death benefits/etc. to domestic partners? They're quaking in their boots, ya'll, at the mere thought of it.

It's funny, my mother was saying some of the exact same things yesterday on the phone. She just joined the Human Rights Campaign and is gathering signatures for petitions and sending letters to congressmen. She wants Jarico and I to have a wedding. My only brother was married in City Hall, so she's dying for candles, champagne, tuxedos, and tears. She said to me, "Dammit! I WILL see you walk down the aisle!"
