That's fantastic.
Shouldn't they be threatening him with something? If anyone ever deserved to be hacked...
Sorry, Kimye...we're just not that into you.

Thanks for that article link, Erik. It's insightful, but probably only for people who are ready to take a hard look at our culture.

Kanye just doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between opinion and fact. Giving his own awards up because he feels someone else did it better is fine, noble even. Telling someone else they should have given their award to someone he felt was better is ridiculous. Tastes are different. I am not familiar with his recent work. He lost me when he rhymed Klondike with, "blonde dyke." From what I have seen of his performances on award shows, the auto-tune doesn't appeal to me. I am completely aware that my opinion doesn't change what others consider his brilliance.
"I am completely aware that my opinion doesn't change what others consider his brilliance."
That is so well put. I'm not a fan of his music because I find his skills as a rapper abominable. And his songwriting and/or remixing skills are too derivative for my taste. To me, his biggest mistake is that his nouveau-riche tendencies lead him to believe that he's the final arbiter of taste in music and fashion. He strikes me as someone desperate for legitimacy with little regard for the art or taste of others outside his personal canon of highly favored works. Earlier in his career he had beef with the organizers of a major fashion show because he felt snubbed which led to the jewel of a song excerpted at the link.
Kanye West wrote song about Fashion Week snub
What seems to be lost here in these two polar arguments is that it is possible to appreciate and even agree with West's argument that black artists are held to a much higher standard than their white counterparts AND to still find West himself an annoying, vainglorious self-parody who, yes, sometimes makes a great a song or even album.
ETA:
Have doubts about this being a legit Anonymous take down. Since they have no real central authority and dozens of social media accounts, there's nothing stopping a rogue person loosely affiliated with Anonymous from doing this. I highly doubt that, as a collective, Anonymous decided to suddenly taken on Kanye West (and focus most of the effort on slut-shaming Kim). Sounds more like a an angry parents' basement dweller to me.

I have to agree. There is usually a purpose to Anonymous's targets. They usually threaten cyber attacks, but this was just a rant.

On Jimmy Kimmel, President Obama just said how much he loves Kanye's music. I mean, I know javero asserts that Kanye doesn't have the mad skillzzzzz he requirez of his rappers, but I agree with the president.
Do they still do those analogy questions on the SAT? You know, like...
songanddanceman2 is to the Madonna thread as [BLANK] is to the Kanye thread.

"On Jimmy Kimmel, President Obama just said how much he loves Kanye's music."
How nice.
I was a big fan of Kanye back in '04, '05, '06...when he was first starting out. I think he's talented and yes he possesses "mad skillz" but boy, you do have to wonder just what the fvck is going on in that head of his that leads him to do the things he does and say the things he says...
Now he's saying that racism is a "dated concept"
Kanye: Racism is a dated concept.

Leave him alone. He's an avid non-reader of books.
^ I love everything about the above post.
Astute and so on point. What's not to love?

"It's like a bouncing ball in a room with two cats, or something, when you don't feel like playing with a cat. Let them literally fight over the bouncing ball. And the bouncing ball has nothing, no purpose, anything other than that: It bounces," continued the rapper. "That's racism. It's not an actual thing that even means anything."
^^^ That is truly glorious in all it's WHAT THE F UCKNESS.
