Another murder will take place on the Orient Express

I'm not sure why they would want to do this. It's like remaking The Poseidon Adventure, which they already tried. It failed. First of all, the "whodunit" aspect won't be there for many. If they're making it for younger movie fans who haven't read Christie or seen the other movie, they'll have to load it up with young stars. If they load it up with older stars, the target audience is very likely people who already know the outcome and the first film.
I can just see Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Kathy Bates, Geoffrey Rush, Clive Owen, Jude Law, Sean Connery, and the like ... oh, and Maggie Smith, for old time's sake. Not in the original, but in two subsequent Christie "star" movies, plus the spoof "Murder By Death."
Great for the older crowd (who already know the plot). Not so much for younger, clueless audiences.

Seems like a mistake to me...and completely unnecessary.

But that doesn't mean we can't have fun fantasy casting it!
Ben Kingsley for Poirot, anyone?

I'd cast Stanely Tucci as Poirot.

I'd go younger. Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, or go sexy with Jean Dujardin.

I'm trying to picture anyone else besides Bergman blather on about the "little brown bebies".

How about Isabella Rosselini?

Michele Bachmann in her "acting" debut.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Obviously Angela Lansbury needs to be in this.

She certainly could be the Princess Dragomiroff, but I feel like I've already seen the performance she would give. But it would be nice to give her another juicy film role.
A friend suggested Genevieve Bujold, who I think would be great fun.

Or Julie Christie or Catherine Deneuve...

I leuve Deneuve, but I don't think underacting is what you want in a Princess Dragomiroff. Ditto for Christie. Ooh, I wonder if she's related to Agatha?

Well I think they should just do it live on NBC with Kelly Clarkson.

Ha!
Who's Mrs. Hubbard (the Lauren Bacall part)? Shall we see if we can cast the whole film without resorting to Meryl?

We might need more than one Dragomiroff; there are just too many good choices.
Maybe they turn the character into sisters, and we could find out they're really the Romanov daughters, who actually escaped execution.

Interesting. Though I bet she'd be really good in the Berman role, too.
