“Someone suggested that Xanax isn't addictive, but that isn't true. It's a "controlled substance" here in California for a reason. Myself, I've never been sicker than when I tried to quit Xanax "cold turkey".
It’s VERY addictive and I’m trying to get off of it now and it’s not easy.
This is the first time I’m talking about it, but still can’t give details. I had an ‘incident’ in January and the doctors had me on everything. It turned my mind to mush. I took all the pills back to the doctors and am trying to quit cold turkey.
Xanax, Colonipin, Tramador, Diclophinac, and my high blood meds. I’ve been fighting anxiety for years and depression has been setting in since I went on disability in January. I went and was interviewed by a referral service and am waiting to hear back when I can see a therapist. But getting off these meds is terrible. My mouth is always dry, my stomach is always upset. I have no appetite.
The ‘incident’ has made me aggressive and angry, afraid to go out and I’ve basically stopped working. If I have to go out, it takes me about ½ an hour to gear myself up. I’d rather lay in bed with the cats.
Please take care of yourself! If I can do this (Basically alone since my husband works all the time), then you can do it. If you ever need someone to talk to, you can always PM me.
“This isn't going to help you but I just wanted you to know that as someone who doesn't suffer from panic attacks, reading this thread is giving me one. Talk about anxiety....
I do not mean this in a snarky way as I genuinely have to wonder if obsessing over this anxiety is just making it that much worse?!”
Jeeze, don’t you ever know when to shut up, Sweatband?

“I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>>
