lol. That clip is an extension of the 'say my name' scene-10 obviously has some unfinished business there
I liked part one, though I'm saving overall judgement for after part two. Something I read elsewhere sums it up I think 'If you liked Davies' era you'll lap it up otherwise Matt Smith will be here soon' (I'm paraphrasing but you get the idea)
So, tomorrow is the final broadcast of David Tennant's Doctor. A huge part of me is ready for the Davies' era to be over and done with. But, I 'll miss MY Doctor so much. Let's just hope and pray he goes out with a bang instead of crap like the last episode pretty much was.

Aaaand here's another preview clip. This one is a bit spoilery, and a bit cack as well. *sigh* Oh, Rusty.

Even better! I haven't seen EoT: Pt. 2 yet, but here's the first real trailer for Season 5!
Moff Tiem Nao
Here's a clip that takes place after the scene where the Doctor and Wilf are tied up. This one had me in tears.

YES YES YES YES YES! And the creepy statues are back! That trailer looks AMAZING. Aaaah, I'm so excited!
And I agree. I'm excited to see this era end. I will miss David Tennant as the Doctor, but da-umn! That trailer rocks.
Oh, and here's hoping part 2 is better than part one.
Happy New Year, Whovians!
One of those links are a trailer? I am trying my hardest not to look at any clips because I want to still be surprised.

My link is a trailer for next season, with the Eleventh Doctor. Kec's link is a clip for EoT Pt 2.
I'm pleased that Matt Smith is such a weird-looking guy. I still think he's too young, but at least they didn't go totally prettyboy on us.
okay, I just watched the trailer. WOOOOOW!!! I honestly can't wait. And he all ready seems so different - shooting guns, punching people, etc. BRING.IT.ON!
I'm so pumped for the new series, and I'm glad we're getting it in the Spring. Not too long of a wait, especially with what we've been given this year.
Also, I'm pumped to watch EoT part 2. Hopefully tonight if my computer cooperates, I'm far too impatient to wait until tomorrow.
Me too, Mandi. I am hoping and praying SO HARD that it is a good send off for Tennant.
It's certainly much better than the first half. Cribbins had me weeping into my jacket potato. Luckily, it was not as overplayed as it could have been, and worked out just about as well as it could have.
I'm looking forward to outraged Tesco mothers complaining about the new Doctor, but that might be TOTALLY lost on you guys. XD
yeah, I have no clue what that means. haha
And that's good that Part 2 is better than Part 1. I was really worried
Also, I love the new logo and how it is the Tardis. Brilliant.
Weez, do you mean those who are complaining because he's not good-looking enough?!
I just watched part 2 and I am a freaking mess. I am crying SO HARD and have been for the last 30 minutes of the episode. If you thought Part 1 is a disaster like I did, put your fears to rest. This was a perfect send off to the 10th Doctor and to the Davies' mythology. The ending was perfect (except for one detail which I went, "UGH!") and just within about 2 minutes of screen time, Matt Smith had me hooked. I can't wait for everyone else to watch it so we can discuss. I am going to watch it again when it premiers tonight on BBC America and, more than likely, be sobbing all over again. GAH, it was amazing.
Goodbye, David Tennant. You are, and will always be, MY Doctor. Thank you for the smiles and the adventures. Because of you, I got addicted to this show and will always be grateful for it.
Ps. I'm still crying. haha
Uh-oh...
I'm doing all I can to wait until tonight. I've got errands to run which will help keep me occupied most of the day, but will be glued to the tv from the time part 1 re-airs through the end.
OMG. On BBC America, they are doing a DOCTOR WHO marathon of season 4 and all of the specials (plus bonus episodes) all the way up to "End of Time" Pt 2
Actually, the marathon has been going on since 12:01 a.m. on New Years Day -- almost every David Tennant episode, starting with The Christmas Invasion. (One or two have been omitted, i.e. "Fear Her".)
All righty, let's discuss
Still breaking into sobs and it's been over an hour since it ended. Brilliant episode. I, too, was in tears most of the last 30 minutes or so. Be back to discuss tomorrow... got to get up very early in the morning...

Part 2 was a big improvement on 1, though still not great. RTD really, really needed a good editor on this one because everything from individual shots to entire scenes dragged on longer than necessary repeatedly. I did enjoy the whole scene with Ten refusing to take the gun, though, even though it rambled on as well - at least it was filled with acting isntead of the crazy loud underscoring and explosions and Tennant gurning.
I was really, really disappointed at the non-use of Donna. Once again she had no agency - she was just an unconscious weapon for the Doctor. And if her head had a failsafe in it, why the hell was Ten so insistent on the danger of him seeing her again? What tripe. Even if she couldn't get her memories back, I wish we'd gotten a sign, anything to show that Donna was at least partly back to being the compassionate, kick-ass woman who travelled in the TARDIS rather than the shallow chip-eater she'd limited herself to being before.
I'm also mildly pissed at the way Martha mysteriously went from "engaged to Tom" to "married to Mickey", but those two characters have always gotten short shrift, so what's new? And Jack...doesn't exactly seem like the kind of guy who needs help finding a sex buddy, but I suppose that was meant to be a case of the thought counting. I just couldn't abide Ten's emo staring farewells - would it kill him to give his friends a hug and tell them they were great?
I did enjoy the little scene with Rose, though, and I won't begrudge her that even if I hate her character. That scene was a callback to a time when she was fresh and shiny and not unbelievably annoying. Ah, happy days.
Anyway, as to the rest of it? The Master and Ten may have reached new heights of gay, and since he didn't have to spend this whole episode gnawing on turkey and shooting lightning bolts manically, Simm got to actually, you know, act. Which he's rather good at. I wouldn't object for a minute to his Master coming back. "Get out of the way" has never been such a thrilling phrase.
The episode also hit some good thematic notes that I'm not going to ramble about here, but Ten's abusive rant before rescuing Wilf was totally unneccesary, and his whiny last words were a pathetic way to go. Nine may have been a miserable bastard, but at least he tried to die with his best foot forward. RTD just tried too hard to wring every possible ounce of misery out of the regeneration, instead of letting people's love of the character and the inevitability of the changeover carry that weight.
I know I bitched a lot in this post, but overall I didn't think the finale was bad. It was even successful in some ways. It just could have been so much more, and the fixes weren't even that hard.
I really enjoyed part 2.
I though 10's exit was pretty much right for him. He continued to push and change things and refuse to go for so long he even nearly destroyed the TARDIS. Which leads to 11 "cleaning it up" a bit.I agree that the speech to Wilf was unnecessary and mean, but once again I think he had to vocalize it to accept his fate. A bit selfish, yes, but "He's just that sort of man."
The trailer for the Moffat series has me very very excited.
I just found the episode generally very effective, excepting a couple plot points (and Mickatha?).
I'm really confused about the female Time Lord though, were we supposed to understand who that was? Was it obvious from something I've forgotten? Was she Romana? I normally like ambiguity, but that was too confusing.
I really loved Simm this episode. The Master was much more interesting as he toned it down a bit.
And Wilf, all those scenes with Wilf were great.
And Jack...doesn't exactly seem like the kind of guy who needs help finding a sex buddy, but I suppose that was meant to be a case of the thought counting
I got the feeling that this was after "Children of Earth" and Jack is still in mourning of losing Ianto and the Doctor was trying to get him back to being the man whore that we know and love. haha
but Ten's abusive rant before rescuing Wilf was totally unneccesary
I don't think so at all. Throughout the specials, the Doctor had been making excuses on how to avoid his fate. I think that speech was him giving one last try but, in the end, decided that his time had come and that he wasn't going to sacrifice his friend just to get his way.
I'm also mildly pissed at the way Martha mysteriously went from "engaged to Tom" to "married to Mickey"
That's the part I said, "UGH!" out loud at.
I just couldn't abide Ten's emo staring farewells - would it kill him to give his friends a hug and tell them they were great?
I actually loved that he saved them and them walked off. He didn't want to drag out the farewells but still wanted them to know that he was still looking out for them. Also, he has told them on multiple occasions how he felt towards them.
Was the episode perfect? No, not at all. Do I wish Donna played a bigger role? Hellz yeah I do and I don't think I will ever forgive Davies for making Donna such a whimpy character after her being the strongest of the companions. But, I still loved it and thought it was a perfect send off for my favorite Doctor.
Also, in regards to his final words, I too thought it was lame. I really wish he would have looked around the TARDIS and then right before the explosion of the regineration, made eye contact with the camera and said, "goodbye" or "It's been fun" or SOMETHING.
