LOOK WHAT I FOUND!
Magdalene, can't you DVR it? Spider, funny picture!
That is a great picture! Dog Eat Doug (comic strip) did a great Doctor Who reference with regard to the vaccumm and a Dalek!
Graham Norton is doing an all new Doctor Who show after the special on Saturday the 19th on BBCA (which will have other DW related specials)---David and Catherine will be on it!
I do have a dvd recorder (not a DVR), I'm just concerned that since I will be in NYC from the 30th until the 3rd, something will go wrong!
I'm in a similar situation vis-a-vis the End of Time part 1; I will be with family on December 26, and their cable company does NOT have BBCA. I'm going to trust that there will be no power outages that night and when I return to Virginia on the 28th, I will be able to watch the first part.
Well, you can always watch it on surfthechannel.com. That is where I am going to watch it.

I can not wait until the specials come out! I've been saving up money to buy the third season of Doctor Who for Christmas and both seasons of Life on Mars with John Simm (just can't get enough of the man!! )
The specials will be packaged together in one set with some lovely extras, i.e. DAvid Tennant's last video diaries. I posted a preview further up the thread.
David Tennant hosted a Doctor Who themed episode of a show titled "Never Mind the Buzzcocks." Info can be found below...

I just laughed SO HARD at the Buzzocks show.
"BARROMANNNNNNNNN"
Here's a new small clip of the Doctor and the Master fighting.

We only have to wait until February 2nd for the package to come out ($49.98 recommended list, though I'm sure there will be cheaper prices out there)! There are a lot of great extras, too: BBC Idents, Doctor Who at the Comic Con, Audio Commentary, Deleted Scenes, Doctor Who At The Proms, David Tennant Video Diary--The Final Days, Doctor Who Confidential accompanying each special---and the one for The Next Doctor is available only in the package.
Whew!
Wow, glad to see there are so many outstanding extras on there! I bought The Next Doctor from the UK because I wanted to see the Proms concert -- and it was excellent, and so much fun. Makes me wish I had been there!
Here's an interview with David done by the BBC (this link can be watched outside the UK):
Tennant on Leaving Doctor Who Behind
I was just walking to the kitchen and heard MY Doctor's voice and ran to the living room. There was a preview on USA for "Water Of Mars" on BBC America
Very cool, Spider I'm going to be checking the Washington Post's tv section this weekend to see what, if anything, they have to say about WoM. They did mention Torchwood Children of Earth in the weekend column before it aired.
And, since it looks like we might be having snow in the DC area starting Friday night, Saturday will be a perfect night to visit "The Doctor."
BTW Spider, check out the "David Tennant on US Weekly TV thread." There's a link to some photos taken from the REX set

That clip looks...ridiculous. And not in that fun Who way. *sigh* But I'm kind of wondering about those photos of Simm wearing a dog collar. You have to give it to RTD - that man knows how to sneak dirtiness into children's television like nobody's business.
Oh, and I was amused by this quote from the review:
You get to see a LOT of the Master and heâ??s magnificent throughout. If anything John Simm steals the show, but you get the feeling Tennant is going to steal it back big time in part two.
Ha. Erm...no. I mean, Tennant does some of his best work with Simm, but Simm was acting circles around everyone in his last appearances.

Yay Waters of Mars is almost here! I've been making myself wait, so it's one extra thing to look forward to around the holidays!
LOVED Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I don't have a clue who that Noel fellow is, but I'm obsessed with his outfit! Very cool. Oh, and Jamie Cullum!!! Love him! Also, Catherine Tate looked BEAUTIFUL.
So, Chrysanthemum, what did you think of WoM?

I really enjoyed it. I can see why he was excited to get the script. He did such an amazing job at showing exactly when the Doctor goes overboard, breaking all of his rules. I kept wanting someone there to stop him. Hoping a new companion would appear and balance him out like they've always done in the past. Arrogant Doctor is sertainly not as appealing as sorrowful Doctor, but it gives the character an almost human quality. No one is perfect, like the tagline from Jekyll and Hyde ages ago, there is such a fine line between a good man and a bad. It gave an interesting debate. The Doctor isn't some perfect all-mighty being, and it gives him a chance to see where his opponents are coming from. Though what he did was justified, he knew it was wrong as he was doing it. Which I think David played brilliantly. So looking back on the episode, I enjoyed it a great deal. But while watching it, it just made me feel, I dunno- not exactly "scared" of or for the Doctor, but more uneasy of him. Which I'm sure was intended! :)
Aah, this tv show is so captivating!
" But while watching it, it just made me feel, I dunno- not exactly "scared" of or for the Doctor, but more uneasy of him. "
Yep... exactly the way I felt -- uneasy.
Like Donna said in "The Runaway Bride" (paraphrasing) - "You need someone to stop you." There were many times (even in the classic series) where the Doctor started to go a little too far, but the companion always brought him back to what is right in the situation. We are shown in "Waters of Mars" the Doctor's biggest flaw.....he can't control himself. Without a Donna, Rose, or Martha there to pull him back and slap him a few, he becomes power hungry and runs with it. In "Waters of Mars," it's not until after the deed is done that someone stands up for what is right, and by that point, it is too late.
True, Spider. That was a point made clear in the special that aired before WoM, "Inside the TARDIS."
Ah. I never saw that.
