^That's funny. "If you could concentrate?" But, strangely, that's what I think every time I see a gas mask.

When he said "are you my mummy?" I was startled into laughter because it was just so out of left field. Any Doctor Who Fans? *Spoilers*

I read somewhere that when David said, "Are You My Mummy?" that it was completely improvised. If that is true, I love him even more.

The link takes you to an audio clip of David talking about the paparazzi on the Rex site during the filming of the pilot. You can hear a bit of his American accent in there...

I find it rather funny that his co-stars didn't know who he is. Although I can't think of many people who would know who David Tennant is unless they watch Doctor Who. But then again, working with someone is a different story. You might want to know who they are.

On another note, I really want this show to get picked up.

Well, since NBC just opened up 5 hours a week of new programming time, all of their pilots have a better chance than ever. (It's also good news for Chuck, which keeps me happy.)

Plum, NBC announced the shows that were to replace Leno in that time slot on Thursday, and Rex isn't on the list. They've put Law and Order and Law and Order SVU in two slots, filled two more with something called Parenthood and a Jerry Seinfeld show and Dateline is in the last spot. Hopefully Rex will be picked up for the fall tv season.

Kec, the L&Os are reruns - NBC just doesn't have enough original programming to fill all those slots, especially after the Olympics. They only have Parenthood now because it got delayed from the fall when its lead fell ill and had to be replaced.

5 hours a week of original programming can't be produced from thin air. So all the NBC pilots' chances of being picked up next season are up now, and existing shows have an increased chance of being renewed. NBC is also commissioning more new pilots than any other network, which is a very heartening about-face from their "scripted shows? who needs 'em" attitude of a few months ago.

Hopefully this means good things for "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer".

On a somewhat related note, I've been watching "Blackpool" and am finding it rather entertaining.

Plum, I don't think the Law and Order programs will be all reruns -- they're just being moved from their present time slots. SVU has traditionally been at 10 p.m. in seasons past, and Mariska Hargitay said a couple of weeks ago she hoped they would be moved back to their original slot. The schedule I saw indicated SVU would be airing twice on Wednesday nights -- reruns 9-10 p.m. and original episodes from 10-11 p.m.

On another note, I just finished watching Hamlet -- totally amazing!!

Hamlet was seriously brilliant! SO well acted. David does a great job with Hamlet.

And I'm all caught up on Doctor Who, which...hey, don't judge me! Any Doctor Who Fans? *Spoilers* Love, love, LOVE it.

Now I feel like I must find a way to see Hamlet sooner than it comes out here...

Somewhat ironically, I was watching "The Shakespeare Code" yesterday. Which made me want to see Hamlet even more.

If you can get your hands on a region free player, Guitar Girl, you can order the DVD from the RSC.

I had a Shakespeare evening, as I watched The Shakespeare Code before watching Hamlet. One of my favorite Doctor Who episodes

kec, that is fantastic news about Macbeth with Patrick Stewart---it was totally brilliant!!!! (and I got my Playbill signed, which was a total bonus!)

I can wait until April for Hamlet (a bit impatiently, though) because I have so much stuff to watch!

And there is a good chance on Rex getting picked up, since there are 4 more hours available (NBC is expanding Dateline an additional hour). I'll be glad to see SVU in it's old time slot, but there are so many shows I watch, NBC will have a hard job prying me away from my other shows! Unless, of course, Rex is picked up! Need me my DT fix!!

I don't even really watch NBC, so they'd get one more viewer (in my case) by putting Rex on. Although, for all the pilots NBC has ordered, it seems that they've only put two really new shows on their schedule.

Still, we'll have to wait and see for when they announce their fall schedule. (Which, hopefully, they do soon.)

GuitarGirl, you're missing out on a lot of good shows. That's the really sad thing about all the NBC mockery. I mean, they deserve it, but the fact is that before Kevin Reilly got fired and Jeff Zucker came up with his "genius" Leno plan, they were sticking by a lot of great but not high-rated programs. (The Office, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Chuck...even Life for a little while.)

But anyway. I am hoping that Rex will get picked up, if only so I can mock its take on pro se. (What? Law students have to live for something.)

Interestingly enough, I've watched "The Office", just not on NBC, since other channels show it. Same goes for "House"-I've seen it more on other channels than on Fox. I do watch SNL on NBC, though.

The thing about NBC isn't that I don't like it, or think they're a bad station. It's really just been by chance that many shows I watch aren't shown on there. I don't watch much of ABC, either, come to think of it. My viewing is rather scattered.

Here's some more stuff about "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer" concerning a focus group testing of the show:

That was an interesting read. Makes me think that it's a good thing the show didn't get included on the Spring schedule; it sounds like it needs some fine-tuning.
