Okay, I saw the film here in DC today in a sold out house.
I'm still trying to process my feelings about it but needless to say, I hate W. even more than than I ever have. There are some facts that were so disturbing it made me feel sick. I was curious what others thought.
Do you recomend this movie? I don't know if i should see it
I absolutely reccomend this film to anyone who is interested in learning the truth about the morons who are running our country.
I don't know WHAT I am going to do if that idiot gets re-"elected" in November. I love Michael Moore and I can't wait to see this movie. Fat chance it'll come to little old Rhode Island anytime soon.
We kicked out from the government Aznar, Bush's spanish friend...
You can do it too!!! and if not, you can always came to spain...
Little Squirrel, I'm sure it will come there. If not, you have to speak up. Call the theatres non stop and tell them you want it there. Get your friends to do the same. They don't know who you are so don't worry about becoming a pest.
:)...My boyfriend is the manager of the theater in the next town over...I'll be sure and pester him till he's ready to kill me :)
Oh, honey than you're set. The key is to withhold withhold withhold until you get what you want!
Plus, the film is breaking all kinds of records this week so theatres everywhere are going to want their cut in the coming weeks.
Haha...I'll keep that in mind...
I think the "R" rating is pretty stupid. And that's DEFINATELY an attempt to cut down on the audience. Even though I haven't seen the film, from what I hear might be graphic at times, but it's nothing different from what you'd see on the evening news.
I'm gonna disagree with ya on that one my furry friend. There are some very graphic and disturbing scenes in the film. It's "R" rating is also justified by the language in the film. It doesn't really matter that it comes from US Soldiers saying that the war is "Fuc*ing Stupid". The rule still is (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) that for a PG-13 rating you can have one non sexual used of the "F" word. Anything more than that gets you an "R" rating. Besides that, there are images of dead children, children with limbs ripped off, charred boddies hanging in the streets, beheadings and various other horrific things from this war that Fox News doesn't want you to see. While I do agree that this is an important film that should be shown, it is not appropriate for young children at all. Not only will they not understand it, but theres no need for them to see these gruesome images.
ok I need detail on this beheading/limbs/body parts thing. Maybe I shouldnt see this. I get vivid nightmares for weeks from CNN as it is.
Well, even after much arguing with the boyfriend, "Farenheit" will not be shown on my local movie screen. Looks like a roadtrip to Boston is in my future. Or at least to another movie theater in the state. But I think I'd rather go to Boston...
Well I am going this afternoon. I am glad to say that both the Grove and Arclight movie theatres here in Los Angeles are saying all their shows are sold out this weekend. And last night when driving hime here in the Valley the local Sherman Oaks theatre had a huge line around the block.
Well then. I look forward to a wider distribution.
Chances are though, it will continue to trickle. The images are much more potent when there are lines. And all Americans (and filmmakers) know how important the image is. Especially out of context.

I come from Bush country. yesterday was FILLED with newscasters and news stories ripping the film to shreds and gripping about it being so unfair and spewing endless idiocies about the film.
i was thinking of seeing it, but i have a pretty weak stomach so i don't know that i'll be able to handle stuff like that. thanks for the info matt_g
The documentary "Heinz 57" will be just as disturbing. Vietnamese children burned to death, mothers shot, homes destroyed... Voting records, motorcycle photo ops, many shots of the star saying "Don't you know who I am?", while cutting lines... Mllion dollar yachts, estates, hypocrisy...
It's amazing how similar the films could probably be. But alas, this is the nature of a political system where only the wealthy can lead.
Truthfully, neither of them are worthy. They're remarkably similar. And if given the chance, will lead remarkably similar administrations. Just my 2 cents.

This film is disturbing and shocking. It should be required viewing for every American voter before the next election.
Although Moore's viewpoint is certainly partisan, most of what he presents here is irrefutable. There's definitely a lot of gore in the scenes dealing with the war, with images of limbless soldiers and murdered children, but Moore also has a good sense of humor and scatters this humor throughout. The sad truths Moore presents though will have you in tears.
No doubt, diehard Republicans will not walk out of the theatre with any different viewpoint, but a seed just may be planted.
The theatre I went to in rural Connecticut was nearly full for the matinee, and a long line was waiting outside for the next show. At the end of the film, the audience erupted into loud applause, the loudest I think Ive ever witnessed for a film.

I don't know... The noise from the kids in spidey pajamas at the opening night of Spider-Man was pretty deafening. However...
I expected it because everyone in the theatre, except for me, had been eagerly anticipating the movie, and they all wanted desperately to see it, because they wanted to be just like spidey.
No need to travel to Boston Broadwaybaby614. It's playing at the National Amusements Cinemas in the Providence Place Mall in Providence, RI. I saw it today at the National Amusements Cinema in Randolph, MA. It is an amazing thought provoking movie that everyone should see!
I was lucky enough to see this movie yesterday. It was amazing, I can't describe how it moved me. I certainly didn't need a film to tell me GWB shouldn't be re-elected, but it was eye-opening in many ways. And the ending clip? I believe I have never gone from tears to laughter (however small) in my life. While the movie was great, even more interesting were the reactions of the people filling the theater. Cheering, crying, and standing ovations throughout the show, the whole place was wild. The only thing that put me off were the dirty looks my friends and I recieved from some adults when we went to sit down. Yes, I am a teenager. *gasp* But I care about my country too! Anyway, amazing movie, it lived up to my expectations and all of the hype.

No, No, No!!! It is hardly constant. Only ONE image....a child's arm wound in an operating room, made me catch my breath.(And I am very squeamish.) You've seen some of the images on tv, the beheading is by the SAUDIS, and it is a distant shot, you've seen worse in action flicks.
There is a lot of laughter in this film, some very light moments. Frankly, my greatest worry was having to endure too many clips of Dubya, who DOES turn my stomach. But the clips are priceless.
There's an extraordinarily parallel story about a woman in Moore's hometown of Flint, with a son in Iraq, and her gradual "awakening".
The connections between the Bush family businesses and both the Bin Ladens and the Saudi Royals (for 3 decades) are well worth examining.
It is at once heartrending but also extremely funny and gives one a sense of empowerment, not despair. Absolutely go. And if you can haul a Republican who has a mind of his/her own with you, all the better. (Hard to find, these days, I know.)
The film is astonishing. It provokes thought. It asks questions. Is it liberally biased? Oh yeah--it's the antidote to Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and their fellow hard nosed commentators who are just as ballsy and opinionated as someone like Michael Moore. We need voices like Michael Moore--people who stand up against the system.
It may not change one opinion (though I bet it will--at least those folks who are sitting on the fence), but it will definitely galvanize the choir. I didn't think I could have any more disgust for Dubya and his administration--I was wrong.
Moore's book, DUDE, WHERE'S MY COUNTRY? goes into more detail on some of the issues. It was nice seeing the updates that would come with this film. Interesting how there could probably be a sequel made by the time Dubya leaves office in 2005.
My fav quote from reading up on the chatter about the film:
"Mr. Moore has every right to produce and show movies that express his very radical views. He's outside of the mainstream. ... This is a film that doesn't require us to actually view it to know it's filled with factual inaccuracies."
---White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett
Well, I'd say Moore is breaking into the mainstream. I also laugh at the notion that one does not need to see a film to know what it actually says.

That's because it just keeps getting worse and worse.
