Anyone looking forward to Nip/Tuck and Damages?
#1Anyone looking forward to Nip/Tuck and Damages?
Posted: 1/6/09 at 1:49amI'm so happy that both shows are returning this week. I know that Nip/Tuck was way over the top last season, but I'm addicted to it. Damages had a great first season, but I don't know where they will go with the storyline. Also looking forward to the last season of The L Word starting on the 18th.

Posted: 1/6/09 at 2:12amI'm sort of hopping Nip/Tuck will tone it down a notch from last season. That was a whole lotta crazy.

Posted: 1/6/09 at 9:15amI almost gave up on Nip/Tuck last season, but stuck with it for some reason. Most of my friends who watched the show felt the same way. I hope this general feeling towards last season influenced the writers to bring back more craziness in the first 3 seasons......and drop the damn hollywood storyline. That just didn't work for me.

Posted: 1/6/09 at 10:04amThe Build-A-Bear killing last year just about did me in, but I may watch the first episode or two to see what direction the show's going to take.

Posted: 1/7/09 at 2:51amYeah he is! I thought it was a pretty good episode, actually. It wasn't completely ridiculous by Nip/Tuck standards.

Posted: 1/7/09 at 3:05amI enjoyed it too. Christian was hysterical tonight- he was in top form.

Posted: 1/7/09 at 10:45amOkay, I will admit that I half watched the show, but what did I miss at the end? Was Sean faking the need for the wheelchair? Did I miss him learning to walk? I am confuzzled.

Last's night's episode was classic Nip/Tuck. The characters, and storyline, seem a lot more grounded. This season started off with a bang and I hope it gets better.
I was a little shocked that Sean walked. It could be that he didn't realize he was walking... he just woke up, and out of habit, stood up without thinking about it.
They glossed over Julia's condition. And Annalynn McCord is on 90210, so she won't be coming back anytime soon.
What about Annie? Did she die? Is she in a coma somewhere? They didn't say anything about that. And 4 months later, you'd think someone would've said something.
I was surprised that they started at the end of the finale. It was nice seeing Sharon have her final hoorah.
I loved the first few episodes of Damages. I didn't watch the entire season, so I'm not sure how it ended. The last episode I remember watching was when Patty's sidekick guy handed her the dog's collar.

Ha!!
Crazy-ass stepdaughter shot her in the head.

After poisoning her for months!
I really hate Julia. Olivia is annoying and even she is too good for her. I never, ever want her to reunite with Sean. Christian is his true soulmate and the love of his life, anyway, even if their relationship is platonic.
Liz and Ava are my favorite Nip/Tuck female characters.

I agree whole-heartedly. Roma was fantastic last night.
Season 2 is my favorite.

Mine too. And Alec Baldwin in the finale! It was perfect. I wish Ava would come back.
After the trainwreck last season, I thought there was no going back. Last night gave me hope. Although I didn't love it, I felt a bit of the Sean/Christian dynamic that got me hooked in the first place. We'll see!
I still think moving the boys out of Miami was a mistake.

I didn't think so either. Season 5 definitely jumped the shark. But the writing team, and Ryan, have really pulled themselves in. We'll see who the villain is this time (Ryan sure does have a thing agains women, doesn't he?!). So far, it looks like there isn't room for more messed up characters.
It also doesn't look like they're taking advantage of being in Hollywood. At least with last season, they did the Hollywood party scene and starred in a TV show.
This premiere could've taken place in Miami and we wouldn't have noticed.

jerseygirl2- I know this may be a little dramatic, but I have a different spin on the Sean scene. I thought that after he had the dream that he was dead and Sharon Gless (can't remember her name on the show right now) was looking at him in his coffin, it motivated him to get on with his life. I don't think he was faking his paralysis, but he "gave up" or was too scared to get back to his old life. When he had that dream, he realized that he didn't want her to win and it gave him the determination to get out of bed. I know it's far-fetched, but this is Nip/Tuck. I really can't think of a reason why he would want to "fake it" anyway. He knew she was dead....
I also agree with everyone on this board. Hate Julia. Hate Julia's girlfriend. Hate Matt. All of their storylines put me to sleep.... Liz and Ava rock!!!
songanddanceman2- DAMAGES was great!!! Did you catch it? Did you read the review in the Ny Times yesterday? They hit it right on the head.

Posted: 2/4/09 at 4:05amI really liked Nip/Tuck tonight. Especially the scene between Matt and Raj. I thought the thing between the teacher and the kid was pretty fu*ked up though. Was that his brother she was with at the end??? And I thought it was weird that they tried to make him look older by giving him artificial facial hair. Did I miss something? Did they say he not able to grow facial hair?

Yes, it was his brother, CATSNY. I kind of saw that one coming though.
I've really enjoyed this season so far, but I'm kind of disappointed that we haven't seen much of Julia or Kimber.
Oh, and that Julian McMahon is one hot piece of Ass. *swoon*
