Apple announces iPad 2, yawn?

Apple revealed the new iPad 2 today. I mean, it sounds nice, but it wasn't anything we weren't really expecting, was it?

well that's what happens when you spoil yourself and read leaked information days in advance... these announcements nowadays are pretty much all anti-climactic

No, but they could've at least upped the resolution of the screen to the Retina-quality of the iPhone 4, or added an SD card slot. Not a bad upgrade by any means though, on par with what could be expected, and the white one looks fantastic.

As many of the tech blogs pointed out the addition of the Retina Display was unlikely, as a display that large in that resolution would certainly have driven the price up quite a bit.

Very nice upgrade. I have the first one and I am very happy with it. Plan on getting this one to and giving the older one to my husband.

Eh, I'm also in the camp that doesn't understand the need or purpose of an iPad, especially considering I have the iPhone 4, but nonetheless, I really want the white one. Apple has a way with products like no one else.

I've been tempted to eventually go with a basic phone and an iPad instead of my iPhone. I love my iPhone, but there are some incredible things one can do with an iPad, especially now that it has the HD camera and GarageBand.

Yawn is right. Who cares about the ipad2 when the Xoom by Motorola is superior in almost every way. That's the tablet I'll be buying.

The Zoom is fine. But if you are a mac person there is no comparison. The Ipad is easier and there are lots of more apps available. It is also much easier to sync.

The zoom is fine. But doesn't have the product support that Apple does and yes... much more difficult to sync. It also runs on a average $200.00 more than the Ipad. I have the Ipad 1 and I have been very, very happy. It has gone all over the country and Europe with me and not one problem.

The Xoom is 32 GB and has 3G, so it's actually only $70 more than the comparable iPad 2. My bosses are demanding new iPads, so I'm not sure what sort of mob scene I'm going to have to face on March 11. One of the bosses is on AT&T and the other is on Verizon. Suffice it to say, it's going to be a bad day for me.

Personally, I'm curious as to how the Blackberry Playbook will compare. I just got the Blackberry Torch (refurbished upgrade for only $19.99 on AT&T) and I'm really impressed.

I have never had an iProduct work the way it was supposed to since the first iPod. So that's why I'm gonna pass on the iPad...that and it still doesn't run flash.

I've got Mac everything else, but I do find the lack of flash to be the one the thing that makes the pad eminently resistible.

It's really the lack of Flash that's a deal breaker for me too.
