do my floors have a waxy yellow buildup?

hope this sells better than the first attempt by sony back in 2007.

they tried selling it as individual volumes and sales were disappointing so they started and stopped at volume 1

shout! factory is taking a gamble, but i like a company that takes these kinds of chances and has faith in the product.

Shout Factory has done some pretty great releases, but I lost my faith in them when they released Johnny Sokko, and it was blurry and barely watchable. I don't trust their quality anymore. And I'm sure Mary Hartman will have technical issues, since it was shot so long ago on video tape.

Still, I'm excited about it, and I hope this one's at least watchable (as far as picture quality). I used to love the show.

@ besty: sometimes shout! factory gets it right, and when they do it's pretty much first rate.

they did an excellent job with their releases of 'leave it to beaver', 'designing women', 'patty duke show' and 'that girl'

they f*ed up the season one release of 'rhoda' but made up for it on subsequent sets...but it really wasn't their fault, fox had supplied them with some syndication prints and they were none the wiser. second time around they double checked every episode before release.

they've also licensed sony owned shows that sony themselves had abandoned releasing mid-way into a run...

'hazel', 'all in the family' and 'facts of life' are just three they picked up where sony left off and retained the original designs for consistency.

I have the "Leave It to Beaveer" set, and it's great! Very clearly from the original camera negatives.

They also did a terrific job on the Bob Hope movie "The Lemon Drop Kid," which I guess is public domain now, because it's available through several different distributers on DVD. Most of them are terrible, but Shout Factory's release looks great.

That's why I was so disappointed in Johnny Sokko. I wasn't expecting such poor quality from them.

So they're hit and miss, clearly. Not reliable. And since Mary Hartman wasn't shot on film, there is no camera negative to go back to. They'll go with the broadcast video masters, and hope they have held up (some do and some don't).

Fingers crossed we can still see Dennis's chest hair and not an olive-yellow video blur instead.

But a little fun search led me to find out that Debralee Scott died! How sad, at 52!! Loved her on this and "Angie".

mh, mh had a great cast

@ namo: true. but it was on 'wbk' that i first saw her.

I'm so excited for this but I doubt I'll be able to get it with a $239 price tag. I'm thrilled Shout is releasing these older shows but I really wish they would release individual seasons at the same time for people who don't have that kin of cash to drop on one item.
