A friend of mine informed me tonight that the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square is infested with bedbugs. They know of the problem and are going to exterminate on Wednesday but from what he was saying it takes a few days for them to totally die, so avoid it for at least a week. AMC cancelled their advanced screenings there this week which is how he found out about it.
GROSS!
There was a line down the block to get into the AMC on 42nd when I walked past at around 6:30pm. Maybe they evacuated? Or maybe there was a really popular movie?
Lines around that time mean there was a free screenin happening. That's the only time lines like that happen there.
Damn, I was just there on Friday night. Thanks for the heads up, I'll stay uptown for the time being.

Rest of the week? I've never been and now probably won't ever go.

This is one of those odd never-even-to-be-an-answer/question-on-Jeopardy pieces of information, but here goes:
One of the few 'good' things about cockroaches is that they eat bedbugs.
Isn't that nice to know?

I'm sorry to say that I knew that.

Bed bugs love places like theatres. They have a never ending supply of people who are sitting relatively still and oblivious in the dark for a couple of hours. There are probably far more theatres in NY, and across the country, really, that have this problem and don't even realize it.
I knew there was a reason I try to stick to my home theater.
I'm totally freaked out now about going to see Pirahna 3D this weekend now.
(I know, it's gonna suck - that's exactly why I can't wait)
Btw, you think NY got it bad? Check out this:
