Get an agent.

Most of the time no agent will sign you unless you have experiance in reputable theatre companies. Try finding a UK board like this one. Not many people know about auditioning and getting into the biz in England. If you wanted to know about getting into theatre here in the states then I could help you.

Even though I live in the U.S., i usually peruse through the listings on this site: http://www.thestage.co.uk/recruitment/. It's like the U.K.'s Backstage.

how would you get into a show with a reputable company without an agent though?

Audition. You don't need an agent to audition. Mainstream, commercial theatre often has open calls. You can also submit yourself to casting directors and producers. No agent will sign you if you don't have experiance. They need to make money on you and if they don't have any idea of your talent then why would they buy you? They need to be able to market you to directors by saying things like "So and so just got a call back for the part of Meg in Phantom, and she also just finished the national tour of Gypsy." They can't say something like "Well I just signed this women and she's only been in community theatre. I haven't seen her perform or anything, but she thinks she's good and her family tells me she's got talent." Some actors can't get an agent to sign them until their second Broadway show.

auditions are really different over here (london). It's not easy to get one without an agent or some really good contacts.

what experience have you had? drama college? if you have been to an accredited school, they should be quite supportive.

take care chick
