This film rocks! Absolutely fantastic. It lived up to all of the amazing reviews it is getting.
Christian Bale is perfect (and HOT). The cast is top notch--even Katie, who finally acts like an adult in a film. Just a delicious ensemble!
Oh I'm so there later today Jerbyjerbs! Fantastic news, thanks!
Jealous jealous jealous. Seeing it tomorrow at 8:30pm.
I am thrilled about this movie. And the Scarecrow is such an awesome villain in the comics, I can't wait to see how he's realized on the screen!
I hate you a little for seeing it before me.
And without me.
awwwww! I will try to be inclusive on future films! Like, for example, WAR OF THE WORLDS!!
Nah, you just need to see Batman again.
Tom Cruise I can do without right now.
I feel the same, Singer. I mean, come on, Jerby! Four and a half weeks, it's all I ask.
LOL--the funny thing is--you get his beard in THIS film!
SOO Excited!! Seeing this at 9:30 tonight am dying in excitement i love christian Bale!! and christopher nolan!

Astonishing...this movie was definitely the best comic book portrayal i have ever seen. Batman Begins is leaps and bounds above spiderman because of the depth that Nolan showed us in this movie. I am so happy how they ended the movie and most of all I am so happy the comic book has finally come to life and will hopefully unf**k any things that burton and schumacher already messed up. I can't wait to see the joker in the next one.
I saw it last night and loved it. There was actually plot and character combined to create something with substance that was entertaining as well. I was shocked. He is a great director, and had a great cast. Bale is a perfect Batman, and the back story was riveting. I hope this movie does well, because it'll be great to see what they will do without having to tell so much back story.

The very full large theatre we saw it in last night burst into applause when it was over.

Holmes still felt like a high schooler pretending to be an adult to me. All I kept thinking was, "She's a lawyer?" But never mind- her character was miscast and not that well-written, but not present enough to ruin the film. The other supporting players were magnificent.
I'm glad to see all the positive response to this movie. I'm looking forward to seeing it over the weekend!
I’m thrilled to hear so many good things about this (not seeing the movie until later this weekend)!
On a side note, can I complain for a minute about all the upcoming comic book movies casting these boring little ingénues (Katie Holmes in Batman, Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four, Kate Bosworth in Superman)? They are all incredibly pretty, but (from the other films I’ve seen them in), incredibly dull. If the filmmakers are going to cast the movies so young, why don’t they use actresses like Zooey Deschanel or Maggie Gyllenhaal (or ANYONE with a little personality)? I mean, Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane…?
That said, I’m still excited about “Batman” this weekend!

my theater also broke into applause which was strange since it was at 4:30 in the afternoon sold out and full of high school students...usually applause comes from older audiences but still very very good movie
NCGuy-
I agree about Alba, but Kate Bosworth really impressed me in "Wonderland". She'll be a great Lois Lane. I liked Holmes in "Pieces of April", but she got horrendous reviews for "Batman Begins".

I don't think Holmes is a horrid actress- just a very limited one. And playing an assistant DA just isn't in her range. She doesn't seem adult enough.

I saw it today after my last finals. and i LOVED it. Being a fan of Bale (newsies, hello? lol) that was my major motivation to see the movie. but i really enjoyed it. I've never seen any of the other batman movies or read the comics, but i still liked it.
and I sort-of agree about Katie Holmes. Her character wasn't developed enough for you to really see what she could have done.
but Bale is an awesome Batman, and i'm so glad he already signed on to be batman again!
