Okay toots, I'm out for a few hours. Time to "get a life" (still sitting in front of the computer, just channeling my energy elsewhere). Shall be back tonight. Don't forget to get those song suggestions in - and feel free to ask people like Shameless and Allie - the only two unbashed country lovers - for advice!
SEACREST, OUT! *smack*

Wow. Who knew that the thread needed tiff to survive.
BUMP!
Have you asked the powers that be if we can keep this thread at the top of the board so it doesn't move to a different page?
I know before the insanity the answer was no, somehow I don't think all the drama would have changed that.
Yeah, what he said. ^ Plus I can't handle rejection so I'm too scared to ask. I think since it's not officially a BWW event approved by Rob and Craig, they won't stickie it, but I wish they would! (Then again, all the late night sex talks would have to be kibboshed. )

Judges, I must thank you for being so cool. BWWIdol was a cool side hobby to indulge in for a while, and for that I thank you. I knew I would not have gone past round two (frankly I'm surprised I got past round one...) but now I'm not beholden to it anymore. Thank you for a great internet addiction.
I'm sure I speak on behalf of the three of us when I say you're most welcome! And I hold you'll stick around and contribute your irreplaceable weirdness once in a while. It gives us that cool Buscemi-like edge.
DAMMIT, another emoticon! (I'm trying to cut down.)
It doesn't need to be pinned. BWW Idol is that hot.
I'll miss you Cruel. Except your recordings really do scare me. (In a good way of course)
Maybe I'll just sit out next week...country music. WTF?!?!
Marlene, could your signature BE any longer???
And yeah, country music...I wish I could get a guest judge to sub for me. But Ebby's going "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain, which I'm sick to death of but I think Ebby'll make me like it.
I'll Be is a country song???
Am I the ONLY one who has ANY clue as to what song genres actually mean????????????????????????????????????
Tiff, this is the condensed version. I guess the BWW Idol lines can go, since we're kind of functioning. It is becoming a BEAST. If I were to properly express my lover for Ms. Menzel and her work, there would be a lot of scrolling involved.
Rath, I have no ****ing clue what exactly country music is, but I am pretty sure I don't like it.

Edwin McCain is NOT country!..
Rath did you find your karaoke?
Marlene, I bet there are country songs out there you'd like. It's sorta like people who say they hates musicals. I believe there is a musical out there for everyone.
And, while I completely agree with Rath that "I'll Be" is NOT a C&W song, if the judges approve the song, we have to stand by it. If it makes that big of a difference, the voters will reflect accordingly. And, it's possible he is going to make the song C&W ala "Shameless" via Garth Brooks. And that's probably very fair indeed.
Yep, alllll set, thanks!
And I just caught up on the thread - thanks, shamey. It's sad, though, that all my bitches are of the wrong orientation.
Okay, what's more country, Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" or Parade's "You Don't Know This Man"?
Case. Closed.
Who is Edwin McCain?
*walks back in to the happy land of show tunes, scene kids, indie bands, && myspace bands* I'm hooooome. <3
Tiff, you just made my point for me.
I'm singing DOLLY PARTON. That, my friends, is COUNTRY. Look it up, bitches!!!
Jaily said someone could do "You Don't Know This Man".... so it is acceptable!
Exactly, Rath. You know I don't know country. All I know is Parade is not country. Edwin McCain is not country. But if we're going to bastardize country, at least pick songs that I'll like.
Rathnait, how about Chicago? Maybe Music Man? Those may as well be country.
ETA: Which Dolly are you doing? I forced myself to watch the Country Music Network last night and she did a song called, "Imagine".
Jaily's a classical musician who loves theater.
That bitch doesn't know country from hip-hop.
Tiff- cool it. lol.
*goes off to wikipedia*
"Country music, also called country and western music or country-western, is an amalgam of popular musical forms developed in the Southern United States, with roots in traditional folk music, Celtic Music, Blues, Gospel music, and Old-time music."
Well, since he said I could do "You Don't Know This Man" i'm running with it.
Someone should totally do Kid Rock.....
Great, Marlene, confuse everyone even more! ;P
God - I should win just on the basis of sticking to the actual genres every week.
