ME TOO, KITZ! Now my current craze is Brit rock (classic or new). Love it! But I have no idea what's considered "in" pop nowadays. I went to check out the Billboard list for the last year and I was totally lost.
" I wanted a blues/jazz theme that was ix-nayed."
Anyone hear that? That was the sound of my heart breaking. Damn.
It's sad, isn't it, Rath?
I am fond of "My Humps," though.
When forced to listen to the radio, I listen to the local 70s/80s/90s station.
And you KNOW if there was a blues/jazz week, someone would try to pass off Kander and Ebb.

Kitz: Tim McGraw covered Tiny Dancer!
Tiny Dancer is NOT COUNTRY!!!
It is the way Tim does it. I love his version. Actually, other than his twang, the arrangement is much the same, I think.
IF SOMEONE DOES TINY DANCER WITH A TWANG, I WILL CUT YOU.
I would have LOVED a "blues/ jazz" theme.
I deserve an "insincere tear," since my whole fit is fake.
(Although I agree, less "pop" in the vocals, please.)

Pffft, I know that! I was just linking someone you DO listen to with country!
(Although I agree, less "pop" in the vocals, please.)
Hello, Akiva? This means you!
Mwah! But still...this means you.
For you gals with a belt, I would look at Martina McBride.
"IF SOMEONE DOES TINY DANCER WITH A TWANG, I WILL CUT YOU."
Note she does not mean "from the competition."
How was jazz/blues iced for country? o_0
"less pop vocals please"
Well, that is not ENTIRELY fair. I mean, the song I am currently doing and the song that I may change too (both from Rascal Flatts) are country but it is not twangy country. It is like pop country, so . . . just to let you know what is out there. I mean, I am not going to be like Nsync but ya know.
So long as you're not like NSync.
And JFTR, I've got the karaoke file for Willie's "You Were Always On My Mind" - HINT HINT SPIDER.

NO! Spider's doing a Rascal Flatts song! And I am VERY excited to hear it.
Okay then, Ebby, since the unanimous vote is to NOT do "I'll Be", then "Always On My Mind" is yours.
I also think WesternSky2 should do "Crazy" from...is it Patsy Cline? Unless she was going to stick with doing a more upbeat song, which she probably should.
Thank God for you guys. My little brother just told me that Uma Thurman belts better than I do.
You guys can sing whatever you want, but I (and yes it may be just me) am not going to vote for any more "pop" sounding junk. It is time to show some diversity.
Does "Tuesday's Gone" count as country? I'd LOVE to hear that too. (Even if it's not the Metallica cover. )

"Lay Lady Lay" is a country Bob Dylan song that I am SURE would get LOTS of votes for the guy who sang it.
Just so you younguns know, the Dolly Parton recording of I Will Always Love You is COMPLETELY different from the Houston version.
So out of the 5 guys, only Spidey's accounted for in terms of songs, right? That leaves jerby, JAC, Ebonic and Akiva.
I would say "Georgia" for Ebonic (but don't Ray Charles it!), "Tuesday's Gone" for jerby, and leave JAC and Akiva at the mercy of other suggestions. (I would still love a "Always On My Mind" from someone.)
