"Maybe you saw only "fishing and f*cking," but I seem to remember scenes of dialogue in between. Lots of them, in fact. Between two characters who said more to each other up there in the mountains than they did their entire lives any place else. They even mention that to each other in the film."

Or what they talked about was inconsequential and failed to make the audience care.

Not the audience I saw it with. Twice.

Signs changed my life. It was an important movie, not just for my people, but for all society.

I just gotta end this jack here, though, because I don't want people thinking even for a moment that I actually thought Signs was a good movie.

omg. Please forgive me for not being here for this debate. I was having hot gay sex all weekend and dealing with losing my Cherry, Brian, and Heather to new gigs and much deserved rest.

But, I have to say I am glad I wasn't here because ohmy****inggoodgriefmyGod.

I mean REALLY. This film spurns THIS many threads and debates and the validity of its importance on the social landscape is still questioned? Uhhhhh newsflash f***os, you just solidified its place on the social landscape. You bitches have spent more energy denouncing THIS film than anything else on this board.

All I know is, when I dislike something, I don't spend more than maybe one post on it (Shrubya excluded!).

Good Lord! I wish some of you knew how to quit this odd obsession.

The thing is, though, Jerby, that as quick as folks may be to slam the film, the film lovers' knees jerk just as hard, engaging in (and sometimes perpetuating) the circular arguement that this movie has sparked. Therefore, everybody wins.

Can Bareback Mountain star Brent Everett and Phantom2?, I'd NEVER quit a film like that there!

Obviously the movie has touched a nerve with a lot of people. It's being discussed and analyzed which means it's on people's minds, people are thinking about this film.

Though, to be fair, it's on some of our minds because we can't freaking avoid hearing people talk about it! Bareback Mountain

Well, Kringas, you sure as hell can't stay out of threads about it. When I am tired of something, I don't bother with threads about it. No one is forcing you to read about it.

But you are such the masochist! Bareback Mountain

I'm not popping into threads to condemn people who continue to talk about it. I enjoy talking about it, and could talk about it all day long. Apparently you can, too.

I condemn negativity and nastiness. Maybe that is ironic, but I tend to fight fire with fire.

I can comprehend people loving a work of art and wanting to obsess over it, but I have trouble comprehending why people would obsess over something they didn't like. It just seems a waste of time and absolutely insincere towards others the way some of you feel the need to be on the attack. Granted, if lovers of the film have been hounding you, I can understand retaliation. But, at a certain point, I would think you guys would kill the baby and move on.

We've slowly gone from being a community that respects each other to a community that lies waiting to pounce on people and be nasty. Sad.
