re: Yankees!

Have fun with Wells. Just don't come crying to me when he breaks his hand in a bar fight or mysteriously gets attacked by a man wielding a butter knife or gets gout or stops working out and magically hurts his back. *ahem*

Yes, I have issues with the guy.

re: Yankees!

Lots to look forward too...what the hell do the Yanks do to their pitchers?!?! Wells, and Kevin Brown's little spat w/ the cement wall last season. We all know who won that one! Some serious anger management issues a-brewin'!

Hockey? Hockey, hockey? Hockey, stick, puck, icing, padded men, hockey, hockey?

No? No one?

Fine.

re: Yankees!

Sorry, Tiff. It's springtime, you know?

And I'm not exactly thrilled with Kevin "idiot" Brown, either. Ergh. But at least he's not an irrational fan favorite like Wells.

re: Yankees!

Well, we've got a fine lot assembled, haven't we?? I'm not too sure about this Clement chap eiter. Supposedly, he's got some "mental issues" a la Lowe. I'd rather have kept the self proclaimed "mental gidget," but hell, what do I know about running the team?!?

re: Yankees!

Matt Clement? Was he on the Cubs? I'm an AL girl; I don't know so much about him. But I think his stuff is good.
#32

re: Yankees!

Yes, Matt was with the Cubs and is a great pitcher.

GO CUBS!
#33

re: Yankees!

Yeah, Cubs...don't know anything about him, myself. I just remember hearing some stuff about him on NESN while I was home over spring break, saying he's got good stuff, but has occasional sketchy tendencies. Oh...then there's this Miller guy (like we need another...Miller, Millar, Meuller!) who's on the DL. Our starting rotation looks rather pitiful. I do enjoy Wake, but I'm thinking me may be loosing his touch too. He got lit up the ST game I saw him start.

Sox fan, Matt?

My boy Tanyon's in...please, if we're going to loose, at least let us go off w/ a bit of dignity. I want a run or two! DON'T STRIKE OUT BELLHORN!!! I know it's what you do, but come on!

re: Yankees!

Didn't Bill Mueller have a great 2003 season?

Bellhorn was with the Cubs also.

re: Yankees!

Sturtze became a very nice surprise last season by failing to suck utterly. I hope he keeps it up.
#38

re: Yankees!

Yeah, he had the batting title in 2003...Oh, and he also hit two grand slams in one game (one left handed and one right handed!) Not doing so hot tonight, but then again, none of them are!

I actually like Bellhorn. A lot of folks in Boston bitch about him striking out so much (and despite my little comment before) I kind of like his style. He has a great OBP, and I guess I'd rather have him strike out than ground into double plays hitting little duffs up the middle (though, he does seem to do that quite a bit too)...Whatever, I like him, and was so thrilled when he came up big after the hard time he was getting in the Boston press during the playoffs last season.

re: Yankees!

LET'S GO YANKEES!!

Great way to open the season thus far. I should be hopefully going to some games this year, I haven't been to games the way I was in 2000 and 2001. I got to game 4 of the Subway Series(Jeter puts the Yanks ahead to stay on the first pitch), game 5 of the 2001 ALCS(the loudest Yankee stadium crowd ever--no game 6, overrated, sayonari(sp), na na na na hey hey hey goodbye, jorge-great great night and 2001 all-star game at Safeco, gorgeous stadium. But I always like to things positive for my Yanks-it can't get any worse than last year.

Pain.Ful, my friend! End of story. Oh well, I suppose the Yanks fans derserved a trouncing of the Sox after the embarassment of last October.

Ooooh, another hit for Tek! He's a beast! 3-4!!!

Well, as long as my boys win on Wednesday when I'm there...assuming this guy selling his tickets ever gets back in touch w/ me. Come on, I want my cheap LAST row in the stadium seats!

Sad boys, very sad indeed!
