We are using this West Coast offense and it certainly is not working today. Hawkeyes are driving with a few minutes left.

Oh, Yankees. Isn't it lucky that the year they fell apart is the year the rest of the league did the same thing? After all anxiety, they still got the division championship. This game is truly insane, and that's why I love it.

Yeah, there isn't a team in the playoffs that I'd rather in a 5 game series than the Astros in a 5 game series.
The Astros offense is less than stellar, but their pitching is scary.
Shall we make predictions sure to go wrong?
Angels vs Yankees: Angels in 4
Red Sox vs White Sox: Red Sox in 5
Astros vs Braves: Astros in 4
Cardinals vs Padres: Padres in 5 (yes, I am going THERE)
NLCS: Astros vs Padres: Astros in 6
ALCS: Angels vs Red Sox: Angels in 6
World Series: Astros vs Angels - Astros in 7

The reason I am willing to with San Diego is I really believe they have the best pitcher in the series.
Jake Peavy twice in a 5 game series is nice.
Sadly, I really think the Braves have to win games 1 and 2 in order to win this series. I just not confident in Jorge Sosa or John Thomson in the playoffs...and I pray that Horacio Ramirez doesn't get the ball at any moment.

Oddly, it isn't the pitching that I am most worried about.
The "Baby Braves" have been great, but I am still a bit concerned about things like Francoeur's patience, Langerhans inability to take a pitch, Kelly Johnson's inability to swing at a pitch, McCann's throwing arm, etc.
Although, it is tough to equate a value on "excitement". These kids are more passionate than any Braves team that I remember, so that could go a long way.
A first round sweep wouldn't suprise me. A world series victory wouldn't suprise me. It's that up in the air.

I am not thinking about the "Baby Braves" at the moment, although I'm hoping the added excitement of postseason ball will be the spark that gets them back into the game.
I agree it could be either a first round sweep or a Series win, in fact if we do make it out of the first round I like the Braves to win it all. The Astros scare me more than any other team out there.

Yeah, the Astros are definately the scariest in a short series.

I'm not sure I count seeing Wicked yesterday as "good" luck, I really wanted to see Ben Vereen, and he was great, but for the most part, ugh. Hilty and McClanan, were also quite good though.
Hmm, Yankees. Do you think the pitching will hold up in a short series? I'm begining to lean toward A-Rod and Pujols for the MVP slots, by the way.

It is so sad the Derrick Lee wins the batting title and is in the top five of most hitting categories, yet the Cubs waste his talent and he will not even be considered for MVP.
