I'm obviously in the minority here but I'm open to having Ben Affleck as Batman. I'm a big time geek - collect all the toys, watched all the cartoons, go to comic book conventions in 4 states, even line up overnight to get into Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, heck I even work on Batman and Superman properties professionally - and I think having Ben as Batman could work. I say [i]could[/i] since there are always variables in movie-making.

Was he the best choice? Most definitely not. Karl Urban would have been higher on my list. Still, Ben has done well with his last few movies. Likewise, I think he has the duality of the Bruce/Batman persona. His Bennifer days are his Bruce and his directorial days are his Batman. Sometimes when he acts, he has a smirk that annoys me but hopefully that smirk won't be needed in this film. Likewise he is surrounded by an excellent cast which would definitely elevate his performance. What matters most is that I hope the film will be good. I loved "Man of Steel" even though it was TOO dark.

The other thing to consider is he was likely hired in order to get him to direct Justice League. He was the top directorial choice for that movie and Ben likes directing movies that he's in.

Regarding Affleck the actor, I think he's now coming into his own as he ages. For the longest time he was either stuck in frat-boy mode or used as a placeholder for the late JFK Jr. I particularly liked his work in THE COMPANY MEN.

I'll most likely check out the BATMAN-SUPERMAN-whatever flick.

That Wolverine Origins movie was pretty bad ass. I know it got a ton of hate, but I loved it.
