I don't know about best, but in terms of worst...MISSING, because they left it with the intention of having a 4th season.

"It left on top and with a great ending. Its a long way to Tiporary"
The group shuffle to the kleenex box? Brilliant. That and Chuckles Bites the Dust were my favorites episodes. A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.
Boy Meets World i couldn't stop crying. So sad it was over.
While I am only 30, I think MASH is the best finale that I remember.

I'm gunna support my love, Will & Grace, because that's what I do.
Honorable Mention:
Boy Meets World
Sex & the City
Worst:
Full House... was there any closure for the fans? Do we know what's new for the Tanner family? No and no.
Will and Grace was the worst.

Worse than Full House?
I think not.

Please enlighten me, what happened at the end of Will and Grace, and what happened at the end of 7th heaven?
I love the end of every episode of Cold Case.
I am also just rememberin the episode of ER where Doctor Green died of Cancer, because the radio beside me has just started playing that wonderful version of Over the Rainbow/What a wonderful world that was at the end of that episode. That's one of my favourite episodes of ER. is that still going in the US?
I also loved when Romano died, because we all hated him, and practically every other episode at the end of an ER series, they're all great.
"While I am only 30, I think MASH is the best finale that I remember."
I am only 19 and have seen every episode of MASH...I think it is by far the best series finale. It was just amazing.
Honorable mentions to
The West Wing
Everwood
The Will and Grace one was weird. It went 18 years into the future, and Will's kid and Grace's kid got married.
The beginning was funny though.
I haven't watched 7th Heavens since the 90s.
MASH
St. Elsewhere
Newhart
and I think I remember Family Ties being pretty good
The only series finale I remember watching is Everwood.

Ditto the West Wing. And more ER!!!
MASH
The Wonder Years
Mad About You
As much as I adore Will & Grace, I didn't like the finale. They stretched it a little too far.
Boy Meets World gets to me every single time.

Does anyone else think that the endings to episodes of Cold Case are brilliant? The music... the then and now effects, the whole thing is great. I loved the one of Cabaret, it finished with one of those montagey-thingys to that song 'Maybe this time...', don't know if that's actually what it's called, but it was great.
I'll add Roseanne. Thought it was a great way to tie it all together (and also explain them "jumping the shark" with the whole winning the lottery thing)
I have to concur with those who mentioned Newhart. Especially on a Broadway website, with the allusions to Fiddler. The last scene where he wakes up to Suzanne Pleshette is the best TV moment I've ever seen.

7th Heaven non-Finale:
Simon is supposed to marry Rose - the bitch from hell. After the parents fantasize about many ways the wedding might be called off, we come back from commercial break to find everyone at the reception... then we learn they called off the wedding and are having a party anyway. Lucy and Kevin announce they are expecting twins. Matt announces that he and Sarah are... expecting twins. Mary calls to announce that she and Carlos are back together and she is... you guessed it... expecting twins. Then Haylie Duff, who recently gave birth to a baby fathered by Martin (they thought) shows up and says to Simon, "We have to talk..." The Fat Lady sings - literally. The rotund wedding singer is listed in the end credits as "fat lady". So, we can assume it's really over...
Not so fast! The ratings for this train wreck are so big that they decide to bring it back for another season - thus killing Everwood's chance for a last minute repreive.

Craig, how did Roseanne end? I hated the lottery storyline, so I stopped watching soon after that.

Rosanne finale:
In the last five minutes of the show, you see Rosanne typing at a computer in her basement - the writing room she had been promised years earlier. It turns out all the recent events were fictional - she had made her liffe turn out the way she wanted it to for the book she was writing.
In truth: Dan died from his heart attack. The didn't win the lottery. Bev wasn't really a lesbian - Jackie was. Darlene married Mark and Becky married David.
Angel It gives me chills from the start to the perfect bitter sweet end. Ohhh, just thinking about makes me shiver, in a good way.
When it originally aired I was so pumped, expecting Joss knows what that I was underwhelmed by it... But then I gave it a second chance once I bought the S5 DVDs and boy, I cried for hours.
