Angel It gives me chills from the start to the perfect bitter sweet end. Ohhh, just thinking about makes me shiver, in a good way.
When it originally aired I was so pumped, expecting Joss knows what that I was underwhelmed by it... But then I gave it a second chance once I bought the S5 DVDs and boy, I cried for hours.

Fugitive: I just remember we found the last hotel room in the last hotel that had any vacancies somewhere in Nor Cal so my mother could see this.....and it was one of the few that had a TV......that was the only way she agree to go on vacation then.

I still love watching Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad dance out of their house and into the studio to the tune of "If I Were A Bell." Not a brilliant end to the series by any means, but a nice poignant and understated one.
The ones I hate are the long-running shows that were cancelled without warning, particularly "Designing Women." So sad that the last image of that show was Anthony and Bernice in a lame "Gone With The Wind" parody. And poor Anastasia Barzee...

I liked Will and Grace's. It was sad that they weren't friends, but I loved when Jack and Karen sang. Not a dry eye in my house.
Eh, i can't think of too many, so I'll add Sex and the City. I thought it fit perfectly. Not overly sentimental, and made it clear that the characters would still go on and have crazy adventures, and Carrie and Big will break-up and get back together a million more times, we just wont be following them anymore. Plus, I love the song at the end.

Calvin, ALL this time I was sure that Kiki was played by Gail O'Grady...I just looked it up, and it lists both her and Barzee as Kiki...am I missing something?
Sorry to threadjack, all.
Bizarre. I always thought that Barzee's name was in the credits, but I admittably wasn't too familiar with her when that episode first aired -- and I would almost never watch that one (or any of the other later episodes that totally ruined the characters) in reruns, just out of respect to the show. I'd make it a point to watch it the next time it came on -- if Lifetime had killed it completely.
'La Femme Nikita' for me.
The creative team had totally botched the final season's arc by killing off main characters too soon who had moved on to new projects. The finale gave viewers the emotional release they had been seeking for several seasons. If you didn't catch the series on cable, I encourage you to order the DVD set. The series was an example of brilliant writing for the small screen and the casting was spot on. The Americanized version of French classic starring Bridget Fonda was tame in comparison to the later series on cable.
Sorry for the continued tjack...but is there another Kiki in the ep. I'm forgetting?
Calvin, I understand your loyalty to the original cast, but Hooks definitely has moments worthy.
I probably have this one on tape somewhere.
It could be. I know Barzee did something in "Designing Women," because she lists it in her credits...
Oh, and I had nothing against the new cast members. Even Julia Duffy at times. I just didn't like what had happened to Julia Sugarbaker's character by the end, how she had turned into a pompous bully. The menopause episode was the real killer for me.
And it's not really a threadjack if we're discussing a series finale.

Tho Jan Hooks as Prissy is pretty funny.

I was kind of upset with the Alias series finale. The show was never science fiction-y at all but the last episode was like ALL science fiction with the Rambaldi stuff that no one ever understood in the first place. It was weird.

Gotta go with Buffy the Vampire Slayer on this one.
A perfect ending with enough room to potentially give me a TV movie later down the road.
Six Feet Under had better at least win the Emmy for Directing for that Episode, but hopefully for Writing too.
I need to agree with some of you. Boy Meets World was by far the Best series finale I've seen. I grew up with that show and watching all of the flashbacks was like re-living my childhood with Corey and Topanga. That last scene where they are all back in the class room with Mr. Feeny Kills me everytime.
I'll also put in a vote for Perfect Strangers.

Mary Tyler Moore, Six Feet Under and Newhart were probably my favorite series finales but being hooked on the nightime soaps during the 80s, I do have a guilty-pleasure favorite season finale. Well theres that famous Dallas finale yes, and that massacre on Dynasty..but I thought one other finale was much more melodramatic.
Anyone remember Falcon Crest?...Yes it was pretty cheesy, and perhaps the reason I thought this season finale was so good was that I didnt watch the whole season, but I can remember this one giving me a rush lol. It was the year of the murder mystery where Carlo Agretti was killed and of course everyone was suspect. Well Im usually able to figure these things out, but in the finale, I was shocked when it was revealed to be the nicey nice Abby Dalton character..then she pulls out a gun and kills another character whos identity is left till the next season. The last image was the coffin going into the grave. LOVED IT..lol

I cried for a good hour after the Friends series finale. That is my all time favorite show and I was so sad it was ending, I still cry whenever I watch it too.
I think THE WONDER YEARS was perfect. You think they are going to get together and the voice over says something like,"And I picked her up from the airport with my wife and son" and the kid asking him to come play ball. While not the "happiest" ending ever, I think it fit the tone of the show.
