I always liked the Golden Girls theme song.
Oh, but the best one is the theme song for the duck show on Disney. I can't remember the title, or any of the lyrics. But at 10, I thought it was great.
Charles in Charge, of our days and our nights
Charles in Charge of our wrongs and our rights
And you see, I want Charles in Charge of me!
Theme Song w/lyrics: Good Times
w/o lyrics: Murder, She Wrote
Without lyrics - M*A*S*H
With lyrics - Here Come the Brides:
The bluest sky you've ever seen, in Seattle.
And the hills the greenest green, in Seattle.
Like a beautiful child
Growing up, free and wild.
Full of hopes and full of fears,
Full of laughter, full of tears,
Full of dreams to last a year
In Seattle.
When you find your own true love you will know it
By his smile, by the look in his eyes.
Some set pine trees in the air
Or some stand around and stare
Look out everyone, Here Come the Brides.

I loved Here Come the Brides!
My favorite: "Some Walk by Day", the theme song to Moonlighting
Nanny and the Professor
Courtship of Eddie's Father
.....man, am I old!
w/o words- St. Elsewhere
with words- Either The Addams Family or The Golden Girls
No one has mentioned The Patty Duke Show?? Come on!!
For current shows, I love both The King of Queens and Malcolm in the Middle - they clearly define in a matter of seconds the entire feel of the shows they represent.

I agree with King of Queens...
I'll probably edit this later
You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em both and there you have the facts of life, the facts of life!!
LOL that song gets stuck in my head. For Non-lyrics, The Simpsons theme is wonderful.
EverythingisRent, I was just about to say the Facts of Life too!
I Love Lucy is a classic, it's actually my ring tone on my cell phone!
The Waltons
Wonder Woman
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer theme used to get me SO excited for the episode to come.
I'll be there for youuu~~~
I like the short little piano intro for Will and Grace, as well.
who can turn the world on with her smile?
who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? well, it's you girl and you should know it. with each glance and every little movement you show it. love is all around no need to fake it. you can have the town why don't you take it? you're gonna make it after all. you're gonna make it after all.
there are so many good ones, (maude, good times) but this one lives in my heart in a special way.
i also love the theme from the nanny~
as an instrumental--nothing says new york to me like the theme from the odd couple. i give the sax player on the corner by zabars a couple of bucks to play it once in a while.
Electric Company
Wonder Woman
Good Times
The Jeffersons
People's Court (W/out the voice over)
The Muppet Show
C_O, do you mean Ducktales! (a-whooh-ooh)?
My personal fav is the Gummi Bears.
“Gummi Bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare.
They are the Gummi Bears.”
Oh, the memories.
Ooh great topic! But I'm surprised at some person favs that weren't mentioned...
Prob my all time fav and I think one of the best is the theme song to "Perfect Strangers" from the original TGIF, the show Family Matters was spun off on--not sure how many people know it so here's the song:
Sometimes the world looks perfect
Nothing to rearrange
Sometimes you just
Get a feeling like you need some kind of change
No matter what the odds are this time
Nothing's gonna stand in my way
This flame in my heart
Like a long lost friend
Gives every dark street a light at the end
Standing tall
On the wings of my dreams
Rise and fall
On the wings of my dreams
Rain and thunder
Wind and haze
I'm bound for better days
It's my life
And my dream
Nothing's gonna stop me way.
Soo awesome!
Other ones I think are some of the best include Growing Pains(as long as we got each other...), Who's the Boss(Brand New Life, Wonder Years(High with a little help), David the Gnome, andThe Greatest American Hero(Believe it or not).
And there's gotta be some recognition for Addams Family, just so well known.
Garland Grrrl, I was waiting for someone to mention MTM…and how about “Phyllis”?
Who makes the fog surrounding the Golden Gate simply disappear?
Phyllis, Phyllis
Who makes the warning bells on the cable cars play "The Gang's All Here"?
Phyllis, Phyllis
Who charms the crabs of Fisherman's Warf right our of their shells?
Who lights the lamps of Chinatown just by walking in view?
Who?
Phyllis, Phyllis, Phylllis,
It sure isn't you!
wickedrentq, another fav of mine was Perfect Strangers! as was Growing Pains, sigh here we go again folks another stroll down memory lane for those of us "of a certain age"
Wicked, I was about to post Perfect Strangers!! Awesome catchy song...I haven't seen the show in 12 years but I could still hear the music perfectly when I read the lyrics ::sigh:: memories!!
Who remembers Space Cases?? I loved that song!!
Once upon a time in a school in outer space,
There was a class of misfit kids from all around the place!
They snuck aboard a mystery ship
But soon slipped through a spacial rip
And now they're stuck on a long strange trip!
Harlan Band thinks he knows it all
Catalina is talking to the wall!
Radu's really super strong,
Android Thelma functions wrong
Bova acts like nothing's funny
Rosie's cheery, bright, and sunny
Davenport and Goddard do they best they can!
They're SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE CASES!!

I might have to switch from Good Times to Wonder Woman...after all, I pretended i was WW when I was 2 at my mother's Methodist Women's meetings, and all the ladies called me Wonder Woman, thus setting the stage for the years to come...

The Walker Texas Ranger theme must be mentioned as well.
WHEN YOU'RE IN TEXAS LOOK BEHIND YOU
'Cause that's where the Ranger's....GONNA BE!
