I always liked the Golden Girls theme song.

Oh, but the best one is the theme song for the duck show on Disney. I can't remember the title, or any of the lyrics. But at 10, I thought it was great.

No one has mentioned The Patty Duke Show?? Come on!!

For current shows, I love both The King of Queens and Malcolm in the Middle - they clearly define in a matter of seconds the entire feel of the shows they represent.

there are so many good ones, (maude, good times) but this one lives in my heart in a special way.
i also love the theme from the nanny~
as an instrumental--nothing says new york to me like the theme from the odd couple. i give the sax player on the corner by zabars a couple of bucks to play it once in a while.

Ooh great topic! But I'm surprised at some person favs that weren't mentioned...

Prob my all time fav and I think one of the best is the theme song to "Perfect Strangers" from the original TGIF, the show Family Matters was spun off on--not sure how many people know it so here's the song:

I might have to switch from Good Times to Wonder Woman...after all, I pretended i was WW when I was 2 at my mother's Methodist Women's meetings, and all the ladies called me Wonder Woman, thus setting the stage for the years to come...
