y'all beat me to it posting the Cake Wrecks link.

those "Masturbakers" cakes are quite poorly executed. I've seen erotic cakes that were truly worthy of their subjects.

The Masterbakers' cakes are hideous! The non-erotic cakes are much better.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Ah now I want some Babycakes red velvet cupcakes. Or pumpkin pie. Mm...

My mom asked me to make her zucchini bread, which sounded really weird to me. I ended up enjoying it. Very cinnamon-y.

Yeah I'm not going to lie, those masturbakers cakes remind me of freshman health too much to be anything other than really creepy...

Maybe I'm biased, but my 3 yr old granddaughter makes the best cakes in the world! She's mastered the old Polish custom of chocolate cake with beets (don't laugh, it's terrific!). To make matters better, her cakes are all sugar-free!

I also love the fact that she cleans up after herself.

Cheesecake. Good cheesecake. Cheesecake that doesn't need a topping. Cheesecake made from cream cheese, NOT RICOTTA. Cheesecake with a graham cracker crust. Cheesecake.

The best cake I've ever had in my life is the Creme de Casis cake at Bonte Patisserie on 75th and 3rd Ave. Unfortunately, they couldn't renew their lease and closed its doors almost 10 years ago.

Here are a couple of cakes from Financier Patisserie. I don't remember what the one in the back was called, but it is very very good. The one in front is mango coconut.

re: Best cakes thread!

These are not cakes, obviously, but they are macarons from my favorite patisserie ever, Bay Bread / La Boulange in San Francisco.

Strawberry pistachio stuff from Le Norte in Bangkok. Wasn't the best, but I had a picture of it so I thought I'd share.

re: Best cakes thread!

Lest we forget the infamous KITTY LITTER CAKE!

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla sandwich cookies
3 drops green food coloring
1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls

DIRECTIONS
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to package directions (any size pan).
Prepare pudding according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of green food coloring and mix.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the remaining cookie crumbs, and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, you want the cake to be just moist, not soggy.
Line kitty litter box with the kitty litter liner. Put cake mixture into box.
Put half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. Shape the ends so that they are no longer blunt, and curve the tootsie rolls slightly. Bury tootsie rolls randomly in the cake and sprinkle with half of the remaining cookie crumbs. Sprinkle a small amount of the green colored cookie crumbs lightly over the top.
Heat 3 or 4 of the tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle lightly with some of the green cookie crumbs. Heat the remaining tootsie rolls until pliable and shape as before. Spread all but one randomly over top of cake mixture. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Hang the remaining tootsie roll over side of litter box and sprinkle with a few green cookie crumbs. Serve with the pooper scooper for a gross Halloween dessert.

That actually sounds quite good. I finally looked at the masturbaker cakes yesterday. Yeah, those are completely hideous. I probably could do a better job decorating those things.

And yay! My sister made chocolate cupcakes yesterday, so I had one. :)
