Eugene made me cry in A MIGHTY WIND, and I just wasn't expecting that. He played it with such reality, and played it well.
BEST IN SHOW makes me laugh from beginning to end.
You're right Jane. Everybody has different favorites and least favorites. I guess my list would be:
1. Best in Show
2. A Mighty Wind/Waiting for Guffman
3. For Your Consideration
This doesn't mean a lot because the truth is that they're all ranked very high in my estimation. My favorite just depends on the mood I'm in at the time! (A Mighty Wind has the ability to take me back to my teen years and love for folk music.)
I don't remember a catheter song, Glebby!
How come no one but me is mentioning Spinal Tap? didn't you guys all see it?
OMG - I forgot about Spinal Tap! I love it. Actually it's kind of a hoot to watch ST and immediately follow it with A Mighty Wind. Watching the Spinal Tap guys age into the The Folksmen is a hoot!
Spinal Tap is on my list above.
I remember when they were getting introduced at some military institution, and the guy said "here's Spinal Tarp!"

Jane - I like SPINAL TAP a lot, but consider it a Rob Reiner film, not Christopher's.
I loved the nine inch Stonehenge stage set!
LOL - wasn't that hysterical? I have GOT to play this again!
Oh, DG, did I lump ST in with the Guest films? I was assuming it was one of the group!

I think everyone does, Jane - I'm just being stubborn, as usual
18 inch.
Best in Show gets funnier every time we watch it.

I think Guffman and Best in Show are hilarious, I thought A Mighty Wind was just okay, and I simply did not get For Your Consideration. I didn't laugh once during it.

In cast you weren't aware, when Spinal Tap appeared live in concert, back in the late 1980's their opening act was The Folksmen (from AS Mighty Wind). Most of the audience was totally unaware that the three balding guys with the bad facial hair were the same guys behind Derek, Nigel and David.

misschung, I know! I laugh from beginning to end. I don't think there's anything that can be done to improve that movie.
BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!
Did you hear Eugene trying to find the note in the word "vapor?" Perfection.

and that isn't even the full scene - they edited it. I almost peed in my pants the first time I saw that
