Rufus Wainright does a fantastic rendition, but Buckley's is the best.

Yeah, that was pretty impressive PalJoey.
I also think John Cale's version is pretty good.

There are so many incredible versions. It is just such a gorgeous, haunting song.
I had never heard k.d. lang's version before, PJ. Wow. It was as if I was hearing the song for the first time. Beautiful.

Have you heard her version of Roy Orbison's "Crying"?

Jeff Buckley. PJ, I LOVE k.d. lang's version of "Crying." I prefer it over Orbison's.

Fear no more the heat o' the sun,
Nor the furious winter's rages;
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
Home art gone and ta'en thy wages:
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney-sweepers, come to dust.

I love many versions, including k.d. lang's and Rufus Wainwright's (but not including the HORRIFYING version U2 did), but for me, it'll always come back to Jeff Buckley. He sings it in a way that you'd almost never believe he didn't write it, that's how deeply he feels it.

I love Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah", and KD Lang's version of "Crying." Thanks for the video, paljoey. But, my favorite version of "Crying" is by Pat Benatar.

K.D.Lang reigns supreme...
The great thing with human brains is they're fanless, nice and quiet although I'm sure mine whistles a bit sometimes.

U2's version is the worst. Dylan messes the lyrics up really bad but it's still Dylan so it's ok. Rufus Wainwright does a serviceable job. Jeff Buckley's is of course a masterpiece but I have to go with k.d. Lang as my favorite.

Hmm, I'm really curious to hear Lauren Molina's...
But I'd have to say Rufus Wainwright, personally.

There's a movie where they play Hallelujah and everyone's moving in slow motion.
I can't think of it for some reason. I want to say Donnie Darko, but that's not right.
Anyway, I really like that version, whomever it may be.

John Owen Jones has a wonderful version on his cd, which, coincidentally, is titled HALLELUJAH.
